Get a Weber 22" and teach yourself how to manage the air flow for heat control... Hot and fast, low and slow, direct and indirect cooking. You can smoke, roast, grill and rotisserie on your Weber.. No reason needed to buy anything else... As a side note, two zone cooking is as easy as it gets on a Weber with baskets or just banking the coals on one side.

The Weber 26” with the Venom is the best combination: plenty of cooking space and excellent temperature control.

Weber 26 is my choice. Been great for years.

I Love my Weber 22. Absolutely nothing you can’t cook on it. 🔥

The only grill that will last decades without gouging your pocket is the Webber 22" kettle.

I've got both the Weber 26" and the 22". While neither has a table, I have an outdoor table on the patio which solves that issue. When cooking for just me and wife, I rely on the 22". For bigger gatherings, the 26" is the go-to. Also, when smoking for big get-togethers, I have smoked as many as 3 Boston Butts on the 26" at one time with ease. I've also used it for large briskets and several racks of ribs. I've been thinking of buying the Spider Grills Venom air system for the Weber 22". They even make an adapter so it will fit on the 26". I think that will be a game changer.

Here's the thing the Weber 22in kettle is unbeatable in my mind, because they're so ubiquitous you can get parts for them literally everywhere. I've owned probably 6 of them and never bought a new one because people literally just give them away on Facebook and I'll fix them up with replacement parts. Just bought a weber performer deluxe for $60 and all it needed was some clean up and replacing the rusty vent blades.

The Weber 22" kettle is the golden standard. Period.

I integrated a 22“ Weber into a table with wheels , embedded a cast iron grill, and use a vortex. This is simple and efficient. The Weber pot is 20 years old and like new. Indestructible.

For the most part I completely agree with you. I have never tried the spider grill but I do have a 22 inch performer with many upgrades including the spider temp control. I absolutely love it. I bought the Onlyfire ceramic firebox and it is amazing coupled with the Onlyfire smoking attachment. I feel like I can’t beat it. Flavor to the max! Great video I appreciate! 👍👍

For me, managing the fire is half the fun...on my journey of earning the title Grillmaster 😎

Thought you would’ve mentioned that the Napoleon has rotisserie port holes included in the bowl so you don’t need to buy an attachment to stick on top. Pretty handy if you already have a rotisserie.

I have both a 22 inch weber, kettle, and the spider grills Huntsman. I would say this, both grills pretty much produce the same results from the food perspective however where the difference is for me is when you’re cooking in high wind and temperatures below 40°F. The Weber simply can’t regulate temperature adequately enough to do any kind of serious, low and slow and requires nearly a full bag of briquettes to do hot and fast. The Huntsman is a little bit slow to warm up and stabilize but once it does, it’s almost temperature immune. Both have their place.🤠

I’m sorry, but there’s no scenario where I would drop $900 on a grill with a 3 year warranty (especially one that doesn’t cover rust at all). For that kind of money, you can get a Performer Deluxe, a Slow-n-Sear, and a wireless temperature probe setup to monitor your cook. Quite frankly, Weber kettles have a longstanding reputation for holding temperatures rock solid for many hours on end with very little intervention. They also have unmatched longevity when cared for properly. There are Weber Kettles still going strong that were first bought decades before any of the other grills in this video existed.

You dont need a slow n sear basket to keep your briquets in. I just push my charcoal to one side and now I have a 2 zone system.

David and Melissa what a full deep dive. I own a 26 weber kettle and a 22 inch weber performer and I love them very much. That spyder kettle looks cool though.

I've owned a lot of grills and smokers in my life and the only one I ever had any regrets about purchasing was the 22" Weber Mastertouch. I love that grill, but I've always regretted not getting the 26" instead. Sure, the 22" is enough room for just the proteins, but I typically am grilling other things for dinner as well.

Also, if you think you'll be like me and collect a lit of grills or smokers, do yourself a favor and buy a stainless steel cart or two. This way you can stop paying extra for these cheap as shelves and tables they put on grills and smokers.

Napoleon 22" cast iron grill all the way.

Glad to see the Spider Grills did so well. I stumbled upon them when looking for a replacement for my pellet grill and really liked everything about it.

As an owner of the Huntsman, I can tell you that the SnS does work with it. I own that accessory.
I absolutely love the Huntsman.
I sometimes use it in Venom mode to preheat for grilling temps then switch to manual vents during the cook while still using the Venom to monitor grill and food temps via the display or app. Other times I let the Venom do it all.
Such a versatile grill.
Point of correction on the 2mm measurement you reported. That's just the gasket mounting surface that is attached to the bottom of the lid. The actual lid thickness is 5 mm.
