SETI: Learn How to Play

Games Made Easy

In this Games Made Easy video, I’ll teach you how to play SETI.

SETI seems complicated at first, but it’s actually pretty easy to learn. I love that as soon as I finish one game, I immediately want to play another one.

The game mechanics are designed to represent the real world, making complex decisions intuitive because players can visualize the scientific reasoning behind the rules.
Success is achieved by advancing simultaneously across distinct but complementary strategic pathways.

There is more going on with SETI than I realized. Thank you for a very clear how to play video; it makes me eager to get it to the table.

I have one more tip for the game. Go for the moons as fast as possible, since they give a lot of points or signals and can only be landed by one player. There are some cards that helps, but the moonlanding tech is otherwise critical to reach for that.

Wow, what a soothing and clear voice. I just want you to teach me all the games from now on!

Such lucky timing for me that you come out with a video just weeks before I have to play it 😊 You continue to be the best rule explainer. I especially love how you go over card anatomy early on (the official video doesn’t until way way later), just like you also did for Ark Nova.

Thanks so much for your in depth guide to playing this interesting game.

Great teach as always, thank you. Love this game and already know it, but your video revealed one or two small rules I didn't know (for example not having to fill the bottom data slots in order). My wife is not a gamer but said she wants to learn this, so your video will help 😅

This is really well done! I can’t believe I didn’t see this tutorial before ✨ I love the cat just vibing as you explain the game 😂

Amazingly well explained video! Thanks!

The explanation works well and the overall vibe is good, but the way it jumps from one section of the board to another makes it feel a bit chaotic and difficult to follow visually.

I think it would be clearer to begin with an overview of the whole board before focusing on specific areas. This would help players understand what is happening in the game as a connected system, rather than as a series of separate micro-mechanics.

Always super clear!

Thank you for this tutorial. Now I have to learn Shackleton Base and see which one of the two I should buy.

I always enjoy watching your videos. This one is especially helpful as I picked up SETI the other week and have only had 1 playthrough (solo).

Peter must be hell on bottom boxes 😂 Great tutorial! Looking at SETI for my next game and this was super helpful. Have you played solo & if so how long does a typical game take?
