Thank you so much for this.. a lot of information around here is the same repackaged differently, it’s like fast food honestly. But this video slowed me down and made me think a bit deeper. It’s like a sip of fresh water in a desert. Thank so much.

I think this video explains a lot. It explains why people get stuck in addiction, poverty, hoarding and other self defeating cycles.

this is soo underrated! you've clearly done a lot of research and its paid off 🤩

Oh my word, you are brilliant, Ashley!  You have presented this important information in such an accessible way!  I want to go back and re-watch.  Thank you, thank, you, thank you.

Wow that's a PhD research!
you are beautiful 👸🏾

The more you push through the resistance, the less you have to push through to resistance 🤔
So, willpower is only necessary in the beginning.

It’s interesting that having the “shame coach” internal monologue is something learned. With few exceptions younger children inherently believe they are strong and capable- for instance if you ask a toddler picked at random if they’re strong there’s at least an 80% chance they say yes (as well as a non-zero chance they’ll say they’re even stronger than you are which is always very cute).

Anyway, in my experience by default kids generally like themselves, and continue liking themselves until someone teaches them otherwise. I think it’s interesting that shame triggers an internal monologue that bares remarkable similarity to the voices of the people who made us believe we were weak/ stupid/ useless and inept. It’s shocking how the narrative our bullies frequently shoved down our throats that as children we learned not only to doubt ourselves but to believe the bullies concept of ourselves in lieu of our own.

It’s remarkable that no matter how much time passes or how much work we do to unlearn them; the false core beliefs that trauma plants sprout up again like weeds the second we hit a drop of rain.

So… what you THINK / BELIEVE can ALWAYS be overridden by what you DO!!! 🧠✨

9:56 😮🤯 this has definitely been stealing my motivation. I worked really hard to improve pretty much every aspect of my life over the last 3 years, yet, I find myself feeling like I'm still always struggling with life's bare minimums. But, it really isn't. I've experienced the bare minimum and it's really friggin bare. I've created something lush and proactive and it's only getting better and I really haven't been paying attention or giving myself my flowers for it. Damn.

Ashley, thank you so much for this video.  I for one really needed to hear this today.  I will be using this new knowledge to continue my transformation journey with a different (more positive and practical) perspective.  Btw, keep on doing what you are doing, my friend.  I love the way you delivered your message.  This video was engaging and informative; and you took the time to break the information down enough so that the average person could understand without having to pull out a dictionary or refer to Google.  In case no one has told you today, the world needs you, because your content is very relevant and you are obviously very passionate about and gifted with the ability to deliver your message in an unique way that makes it easily relatable and received by others.

I love the way you speak about this subject - super clear and easy to understand. I had to slow down on watching self development videos because it almost seemed redundant and not quite scratching past the surface of what I was looking for. Thank you for sharing this with us, I’m glad I clicked this video 🫶🏽

I have a different issue. I follow through on everything. I set a goal, I get it done. The problem is that you become engulfed in a constant striving to complete things. What I've learned is that it's okay to quit sometimes and do nothing. In fact, your sanity depends on it.

This was way more than about habits, discipline and motivation...its a lot about self belief and self love! The entire video was amazing! Kudos for the research 🤌

This deserved hype. I wish I'd seen it while I still could.

I did enjoy this video. I learned a lot about myself and how my brain works. Thanks Ashley

Amazing to see my own reflection as a black man with this level of knowledge and understanding. Representation definitely matters!

Many Thanks, not just people
Don’t talk about. Many of us are not educated on the physiology of the brain.
You are bringing this to us.  Something inside of you, your greatness moved you to go beyond the surface.

This is actually soo helpful, the things you talked about are things I have come to realise while on my self improvement journey.
Hearing you break it down, help me understand them even better. Thank you

Wow! This was eye opening! Thank you
