This song is important to black people for a number of reasons. It is also important to white people like myself because of how educational it is.

Guy on the piano is Fraser T Smith,  producer/co writer.

The Guy in the photo on the piano was Jack Merritt who was sadly killed in a terrorist attack near London Bridge,  He was a course coordinator for a prison rehabilitation support course who'd helped Dave and his family after his brother was sent down.

Don’t think I will ever get tired of watching this

I was introduced to this song by my son when he came home from school one day saying "Mum, watch this video we studied in school today!"
And it was the live performance version that they'd studied too... but I think that was only because he doesn't swear in this one, they probably didn't show Dave's speech at the end, when showing it in his class 😅

If you wanna delve deeper into Grenfell which Dave mentions at the end you should check Lowkey - Ghosts of Grenfell 1&2. It's a tower block full of immigrants that burnt down. Very powerful.

More Dave!

In the extra verse, when he said “it is racist whether or not it feels racist. Truth is, our prime minister’s a real racist”, that was a shocking line that hit hard.

The fact that he had the balls to say that at the Brit awards on the BBC was a big deal.

Bro you should see the news articles about how many people complained about this performance on TV. OFCOM is our media standards regulator, and if I remember right they got a record number of complaints about this. People saying that the song was racist! Speaking truth about the black experience is somehow racist against white people?! Come on lol. Ridiculous stuff

I found this video about Dave's performance at the Brits and his song, and thought it might be something you'd like to watch (even if it's just in your own time, not a reaction).
It's mainly about the aftermath of Dave's performance at the Brits, but it also gives a little back story on Dave himself, how he came to write the lyrics to Black, and the impact the song made... things like that.
It basically answers most of the questions you were asking, which was why I thought you might like it.

Jack got killed in terrorist attack on London bridge I think but he was helping communitys as he said
. Think was knife attacks and he tried to do something.. Might be wrong hope I'm not and no disrespect either way

African Americans often cannot trace their specific ancestral roots because the U.S. chattel slavery system deliberately erased direct family lineages, names, languages, and ethnic ties, whereas many Black people in England are first- or second-generation immigrants who maintain direct, recent connections to specific African or Caribbean nations

I believe the guy on piano is hans zimmer
