What started as test trenches quickly turned into a massive discovery. As we dug deeper, we uncovered enormous sections of ancient petrified wood showing incredible colors, including reds, yellows, blues, purples, blacks, and translucent areas. The tree kept getting bigger and bigger, and by the end we were wondering if we'd be chasing it for days!

Some of these pieces were buried roughly 8–10 feet underground, and the wood is estimated in the video to be around 180–220 million years old. We also uncover pieces with bark still visible, beautiful wood grain, colorful banding, and incredible patterns that really come alive when they're wet.

This was also a special Crystal Clubhouse private digging event, giving members the opportunity to experience a dig like this firsthand.

And there's a LOT more to see—including the incredible piles of Arizona petrified wood we collected during the dig.

If you love crystals, minerals, fossils, petrified wood, and seeing amazing specimens come straight out of the ground, you're going to love this one!
