Helicopter Extraction of the 50-Tonne Gemstone Boulder we Blasted!

In Part 1 of this adventure, we flew by helicopter high into the mountains with a blasting crew to tackle a MASSIVE 50-tonne boulder loaded with Iolite! After drilling and loading it with explosives, we BLASTED the huge boulder into pieces small enough to eventually get off the mountain.
Now it’s time for the extraction!
Over the last week, the guys have been hard at work sorting and loading the blasted material into huge bags. And this isn’t just ordinary rock. Mixed throughout the debris is beautiful Iolite gem rough, incredible lapidary material, and some seriously high-end crystal specimens!
Today I’m heading back up the mountain to watch the spoils of our adventure finally come down. A helicopter will lift bag after bag of gemstone-bearing rock off the mountain and deliver it to the waiting flat deck below.
After all the planning, drilling, blasting and hard work, we finally get to see just how much material that giant boulder produced!

Sorry I haven't been on in a long time I've been very very sick since last November and I haven't really been spending time online except for just to listen to stories with my eyes closed but when you're on I have to listen and watch because what you sow is always so cool I can't just close my eyes and listen.
