Crazy how even AFTER batman's retirement, superheroes was, "naaah, I ain't touching that"

It took his heart to literally stop for Bruce to retire. He was on business this whole movie

Bruce is the definition of “It’s not over till I say it’s over”

Batman built like a damn brick wall in this movie at the age of 55, Mans diet consists of nothing but protein powder and Meat

The fact that also, Batman beat mutant in front of his whole gang.

Proceeded to make his gang a private fanclub.

And then if you peeped the ending, MADE HIS GAMG INTO HIS OWN, NOW PROTECTING GOTHAM.

Gotta be the most DISRESPECTFUL SHIT to even be done in fiction.

Like imagine being humiliated in front of your gang, seeing them turn into fanclub for the opp that humiliated your ass, and then becoming a whole new gang that doesn't rob and terrorizes, but keeps protects and keeps peace in Gotham.

Diabolical.

I always love how Alfred is just casually immortal for Bruce.

115 years old? Nah. Easy work.

You forgot the coldest line in the film: “You don’t get it Son. This isn’t a mud pit…*hits armbar*…It’s an operating table. KRAK! And I’m the Surgeon”

One of the things that amuses me about the Dark Knight Returns is that pretty much the whole reason it exists is that Frank Miller turned 30 and realised "Shit... I'm older than Batman now! Nope, can't be having that..."

This is probably the only Batman I like having a conflict of deciding to end the Jokers life you can tell this version of Bruce is tired and angry with himself over the years and now decided that it was time to end it like he said, “I’m through playing Joker”  and “ All the people I’ve murdered by letting you live.” Shows what happens when Batman is done with second chances.

This man a reference encyclopedia

Dark Knight Returns Batman was DIFFERENT bro. When he started his career, like Year 1/Year 2, he was really aggressive and angry. Then as time passed and he started working with the Justice League, he kind of mellowed with age. But in his mind after he retired and came back it was like he was becoming Batman for the first time again. All that anger and aggression came flooding back. The city was overrun with crime and gangs ran the streets. People didn’t think he existed anymore so he had that “urban legend” element back. Not to mention that he was old and not as spry as he used to be, so he would often have to use brute force in situations where he used to use more finesse. It quite literally was a reawakening for Bruce Wayne/Batman. He’s too old for this shit but he’s doing it because nobody else will. I absolutely love this comic and its movie adaptation. Frank Miller’s a genius.

I still can't believe Batman had four sons and a daughter. All five of his kids are S-tier smoke collectors. Jason and Damian had black air-force energy. Red Hood and Robin are definitely crashouts

Bruce at the end of the movie realizing that he was too old to continue protecting Gotham, so he decided to go underground and train the next generation to be the protectors of Gotham. 😊

If it weren't for Miller's comic series, we would have never had the Batman movies of the last 38 years.

The fact Batman is doing more physical activity than 99% of humanity… In his 80s with a heart condition just shows how Bruce is undoubtably the most dangerous member of the justice league.

This guy doesn’t even have powers and I would be scared shitless if he caught me jaywalking

Gotta admit, Joker's death has been a long time coming.  I know we the fans enjoy (most of) his antics because his showdowns with Batman are usually iconic, but seriously, he should be "Kill On Sight" for just about all law enforcement and military personnel WORLDWIDE.

This really should’ve been Batman versus Superman the movie like the main plot of how they fight

I like how it ends with Batman essentially becoming the leader of his own League of Shadows. It's probably the best retirement he could get, honestly.

1:13 The black man in bronze. The one and only, Batman! Bronze Age!!!!

The streets got too dirty the janitor had to come out of retirement
