Hope you all enjoyed this and let me know your theories in the comments! I cannot wait to play this game, I want it now!!

His (Strangers) helmet also has engraved "The enemy must be destroyed" in Latin, which has always been his moto in both books and game.

Maybe after Hunter created the Nova Reich he went even crazier or became sane again and ran away from the metro letting the Nova Reich run on auto mode with a puppet in charge.

Wake the fuck up Spartan, we got some Watchers to kill.

I think Hunter is having a inner battle with himself, he sees the Novoreich Fuhrer as himself. He sees the Blood thirsty man that leads this new faction and is self projecting during this hallucination.

After everything, the Aurora crew has been through and how far are they traveled.I think they'll be pretty much safe.

Wherever they take the story I just hope Artyom has a happy ending because that dude has been through the wringer and I hope he is happily retired with a family

The old lady in chains is the baba yaga for sure she in front of a creepy house too

The Dark Ones design is truly horrifying

I do agree with you and believe that both the main character and antagonist are indeed Hunter.

In Metro 2034, Hunter, along with Homer the historian, and a girl named Sasha, are travelling from Sevastopol Station to Polis. During the travel, it becomes clear that Hunter is mentally unstable after his encounter with the Dark Ones and is dealing with an ever-increasing trauma, to the point of murdering several harmless people, terrifying both Homer and Sasha. If we do play as him, I'm curious about how his trauma will be shown in the game. I hope it will be as good as in Spec Ops the Line.

Also, I really hope we will be seeing Homer as well. He was a brave old man who Hunter needs more than he would admit.

The more and more I look at the trailer, the more I agree that The Stranger is actually Hunter.

His outfit is literally the same as Hunter's on Metro 2033 Redux, the brief glimpse of his face when he puts on the mask imo looks eerily similar to Hunter's only with facial hair, and the text on his helmet as people pointed out translates to "If it's hostile, kill it"

I'm curious how 4A will handle the story if it is so, as Hunter is also supposed to be the main villain and the leader of the NovoReich.

Probably a longshot but could they possibly be taking children to try and find  others like artyom who were immune to the dark ones influence to use as a weapon against them?

The way I see it, Hunter finds out about the dark ones freed during last light, takes over the rangers after Miller disapeared, uses them to take over the Reich (who would also really hate the dark ones) and is now trying to take over the metro to fight the dark ones.

If your theory of Hunter being the Stranger is true, then there would be a good opportunity to show not just a Tyler Durden-esque situation, but also for Novoreich Hunter to be thematically similar to both Colonel Walter Kurtz from "Apocalypse Now" and Captain Martin Walker's interpretation of Colonel John Konrad from "Spec Ops: The Line."

Cancelled my funeral just to see this vid

I'm looking forward to playing this.

"The enemy must be destroyed"

translation: "If its hostile, you kill it"

We cant forget the fact that Aurora's crew will go back to Metro to save everyone. Maybe this is will be the catalyst, when at that time Hunter leading Artyom now it was reverse the role.

My first thought was that the stranger is Hunter as well. This may be nothing and I wentbdown a rabbit hole, but something that I was always hung up on from Metro 2033, was that Hunter was seen at the end of the game speaking to Artyom one last time. It may have just been a hallucination, but Artyom still got his pistol. That moment always made me think Hunter was still alive, but just somewhere else.

If not us then who?
