I appreciate Tom asking the more naive, repetitive questions. I will likely never get to ask someone these sorts of questions, so finding out as much as possible like this is so eye-opening. I can see why the repetitive questions may be ‚irritating‘, but Tom is new to this and I think sometimes it helps to push the point.

I’m really wishing people commented about the video itself and not the people they want on the show lol

I'm really enjoying these interviews, Tom. This is my favourite project of yours by far. Thank you and the team for all the hard work!

I enjoyed the interviews with familiar faces but I think it is a true testament to your skill as an interviewer when you sit down with someone not many are familiar with and draw people into their stories. It really is fascinating and this interview is one of my personal favourites

I smiled when Raphael started talking about loving his kids, because it was a concrete, VISIBLE and technically tangible example of someone being handed the some of the worst cards that life could give them, and still being able to love.

It also means that the same type of people who wrongfully convicted Raphael have NO EXCUSE to not be better people. If someone who was wrongfully convicted of murder survived for 12 years and came out being able to love their own children, then what does it say about them?

I was waiting for Tom to ask him if he's seen Up.

As someone who never watched your Minecraft content, this channel has been a real pleasant surprise. You are a fantastic interviewer Tom. Keep up the good work with this channel, love Raphael Rowe and his 'Inside the World's Toughest Prisons' series so this was nice to get to know the man's story a bit more from his own perspective.

This was genuinely so facinating. To us all of these discussions are so foreign and almost unbelievable, and yet it's Raphael's life. I'm really glad you chose to do this with him. I know this video might not get as much attention as the ones with celebrities or youtubers, but this is the first 100 questions where I feel like my perspective has been entirely altered through the course of the video. I'm glad you were able to tell Raphael how much you admire him and his ability to keep going when his life was utterly destroyed by these false charges.

There's actually no word to describe how awful the justice department were. They only got worried and looked into it when the media changed trajectory? That's absolutely disgusting, the media has too much control, extremely small if any separation between things that should be objective and opinion pieces

I thought the thumbnails were getting happier now it’s a reaction thumbnail 😭

No Compensation for Wrongful ConvictionIn the UK, having a conviction quashed does not automatically entitle someone to financial compensation. The system requires individuals to practically prove their absolute innocence to qualify for a payout, which is notoriously difficult.  When the Court of Appeal finally overturned the convictions of the "M25 Three" in July 2000, they did so on the basis that vital evidence had been withheld from the defense, meaning they were denied a fair trial. However, the presiding judge explicitly stated: "This is not a finding of innocence, far from it."

I love you sitting down and talking to people with completely different lives. I enjoy how sympathetic they are to your (and also my) naivety. Its really important to expand our horizons and this feels so accessible to me because it's so much less clinical than say when ladbible interviews someone.

I really like the mix of guests you have on the show

I dont usually comment on videos but I did common on the last one with a silly 'what if x was on the show' but now I feel obliged to comment on this one just due to the pure duality shift of the two videos, this interview was fantastic, deep, insightful and heavy with such a grace and elegance that I honestly didn't think would be possible - which I don't know why, both you Tom and obviously Rowe both have this professional seriousness to yourselves;
We've seen Tom show it time and time again with each interview but even with Matthew Norford's video (I still want his reaction to UP btw) while it was dealt with the amount of respect and seriousness the topic deserved and the fun dynamic between the two, it is still amazing to see such a complete new level even considering such a similar topic (prison).

I very much appreciate Rowe's dedication to his work and his goals to connect and ask the questions to education and give insight to those who would not ever experience such things, like myself, but it is so important to understand the people who are criminals, even if they've done the worst things imaginable, its so important to see that humanity is given all- that living environments are a requirement and not a standard. Its so important to understand the people who have done such crimes to gain insight of how they think and what/if lead them to that point, to understand and try to put in place early prevention methods that can save and change the lives of future criminals

Its important to know that the system isn't as honest as we think, that it isn't as just, that truly no one is ever safe  because if someone who is inoccent can be pinned and left in the dark whose to say it wont be you next. Its important though to keep trusting those around you, but not to let it blind and disillusion you

Fantastic video, time for me to go back into lurking

I really like this series. Exploring how different people have experienced the world does a lot to help us understand each other and become more empathetic and unified.

Listening to these interviews really puts into perspective how dark the justice system can be. And slow. That's a long time for someone to be in prison for something they didn't commit. It ruins lives, and these things change people. All for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I can't believe what this guy has gone through, am glad he was able to create a life after and help others and not become nasty and cruel and instead teach his experience and be a force for good change

the series he did about worlds most dangerous prisons was so intense, absolutely worth watching

Being robbed of 12 years of his life is dreadful!

But I am thankful he managed to build a life for himself, carrying his experience with him. Strong soul.
