With the berry-picking season behind us, it's time to put those fresh local finds to work! In this video, we're brewing a simple, fruit-forward blueberry melomel from scratch using wild Newfoundland blueberries, wildflower honey, and RC212 yeast to lock in that vibrant purple-pink colour and rich flavour profile.

Whether you're working with fresh forage or a stash from the freezer, making mead at home doesn't have to be complicated.

Recipe Highlights:
Honey: 2 lbs of wildflower honey (crystallized honey works wonderfully)
Fruit: ~10 lbs of fresh-to-frozen blueberries pressed into juice, topped off with spring water
Yeast: Lalvin RC212

Nutrition & Fermentation: Fermaid O added for yeast health, tracking an initial gravity around 1.064 (targeting roughly 6% to 6.5% ABV)

Sit back, relax, and enjoy some end-of-summer inspired mazing!

Let me know in the comments how your batch turns out, and may mead be on your table x
