Excellent review - and not just because I share your assessment of the ZF’s pluses and minuses.  Once I obtained a few Voightlander Z mount lenses I really clicked with the camera and forgot about the Nikon Z mount lenses.  I also don’t care for the FTZ adapters and rarely use my AIS lenses.  While I occasionally think about a higher resolution Z camera I keep coming back to and enjoying the ZF.  With the ZF and F2 and F3 for occasional film work I think I am done with the endless search for the latest camera bodies.  Quite a change for me.

I have had a Zf for 2 years and I agree with all the points in this great video. I would add that there are some great, adaptable e- mount auto lenses that are better suited than most auto z-mount, for manual vintage lenses m-mount and ltm are the best fit on zf due to much shorter flange distances. I would love to have a df and I'm sure it is a much better fit with f-lenses than zf, but I do love that zf can hide the back screen, whereas df screen is fixed and exposed. I often go out shooting zf with a film camera like a fm2 or Bessa T also, it is great to have one lens on the film camera and another compatable on the zf so I can trade back and forth and don't need to carry much else.

Great video and images. The Zf and 40 SE really work wonders together.

Wonderful video.

Hi Martin✌

First of all, two BIG THUMBS UP 👍👍 Excellent statement about the Zf, I agree with you about the FTZII adapter, somehow it doesn't fit the style,😢 it's also quite large and I would have imagined it to be much narrower, at least as a small retro-style Guddi. But the variety of old lenses that can be adapted is a huge plus for me. 👍 I have them with me 24/7, so to speak, and I alternate between lenses. The 1.2/40 is finally in my portfolio and it's a mega great lens that fits very well with the Zf. Well, what can I say? G.A.S. now has over 20 lenses from the old Nikon era, and of course many more that are still available for Leica M/M39 and M42. Among them is the Nikkor-S 1.4/5.8cm, which is basically the predecessor to your 58mm lens.  The mood is very fitting and the pictures you showed are impressive, as is the accompanying music. One of the best reviews I've seen for the Zf, and I've read quite a few 😉😁.

I've had the Zf for about a month now. I purchased the Kamercraft thumb rest before the camera arrived and it looks great and just works.

I mostly shoot with the led screen closed as I treat it like a film camera (I shoot a lot of film). I've enjoyed using lenses with aperture rings and just setting the shutter speed on the dial for the particular situation. It really is the camera I hoped it would be.

What would I change? At this point, just a couple of extra programmable buttons would be nice.

Thank you for the beautifully made review.

I never shot the Df, but wish Nikon could make a sensor with character like my D750 had. For me personally, the flippy screen is the most negative experience while using the Zf. Two years on and I hate it more now than ever. I am old enough to need the LCD for low angles. I prefer the Zf over my Z9 for the high ISO shots. It is amazing for that. I also wish that I could use the B&W option and have the RAW files import in B&W, not just jpegs.

almost exactly my feelings about this tool, also the negatives...the sensor doesn´t thrill not like M8 D700 Df and D200.... the V40 1.2 on it is sooo great and good looking....but...

Excellent review thank you. What is the music used for the intro please?

Good review. I really came for the comparison to the Df. There are plenty of Zf reviews out there but comparisons to the Df are not as common. I wish you could have spent a bit more time on that.

Great review Martin! I share the "negative" viewpoint of Nikon mostly focusing on big bulky glass, as well as the not so eye-pleasing FTZ-adapter.  Although functionality wise it works well with my 105 f/2.5 I would prefer to have a more estetic way of adapting old lenses. Would also be nice to have a small native Z-mount Nikon lens in 28 or 35 that fits the vintage look of the ZF.  Now my decision is to go with the Voigtl 28/1.5 Nokton or Thypoc Simera 35/f1.4....  Any recommendation? All these choices 😀

Did you try voigtlander 58mm F1.4 with Nikon zf?

Nice!
Låter som en trevlig vän att ha med sig och dokumentera sin omgivning!
Fick du vänta länge för att kunna köpa den eller fanns den i lager när du ville ha den?

hi! what adapter u use for the camera?

Szkoda, że twoje video odtwarzane jest na YT z rozdzielczością maksymalną 720p. Możesz napisać coś więcej o pracy Voightlandera 40 mm f 2.0 ?

Why have two 40mm lenses?
