Endlessly Rising Brown Noise, Black Screen โ๏ธ๐คโฌ โข 12 hours โข No mid-roll ads (Shepard Tone)

The brown noise in this video has been processed with an "endlessly rising" spectral glide (a Shepard-Risset glissando), meaning the frequency emphasis slowly shifts upward in a continuous loop. This is related to what many people call the "Shepard Tone" illusion, but rather than a single pitched tone, it's applied to brown noise. Brown noise can help you relax and get some sleep, and may alleviate the effects of tinnitus. Enjoy, and rest well.

Fun fact: the "Shepard" in "Shepard Tone" refers to cognitive scientist Roger Shepard, who described the illusion in 1964. Composer Jean-Claude Risset later created a version where the sound slides continuously instead of stepping between notes, often called the Shepard-Risset glissando (that smooth, endless rise/fall effect).
Another fun fact: brown noise is often called Brownian noise because it is named after Scottish botanist Robert Brown, not the color brown. It can also be called red noise.

If so, I'm sorry that happened. I know it's awful to be startled by an ad. I have mid-roll ads disabled on all of my content, but YouTube has a confirmed issue that causes them to play for some viewers anyway. This has been happening across YouTube since at least mid-2022, and unfortunately, it still has not been fixed.
The problem often appears as a 30-second ad around the 6-hour mark and disproportionately affects iPhone and iPad users. I've investigated it extensively and explain what I've found here: https://youtu.be/ndeUVgZMh1Y
If you feel misled by the title stating "no mid-roll ads," please know that the vast majority of viewers are able to watch without interruption. I would never intentionally put a mid-roll ad in content people use to focus, relax, and sleep.
Once it became clear that this problem was not going away, I spent a year developing a free app called Easy Ambience. It lets you build your own ambient soundscapes using noise, recorded sounds, waveforms, and effects, without ads interrupting the audio. Easy Ambience is available for iOS and Android at https://www.easyambience.app/.
You can also check this video's description for other ways to listen. Odysee is an ad-free option, and live stream versions of many of my most popular sounds are available on YouTube as well.
You're welcome to reply with details about what happened to you, but I already have a pretty solid understanding of the issue. Hostile comments directed at me over ads I did not insert will be removed.
I appreciate your patience and understanding. I wish YouTube would fix the underlying problem, but Easy Ambience is my attempt to give you an option where I have control over the listening experience.
