I remember seeing an interview of Chester from Linkin Park talking about screaming. He said he never got proper training on screaming and looking after his voice, it got to the point that he struggled so much performing “Crawling” he had to stop screaming it. Courtney saying it should never hurt your voice if you’re doing it right, so true!

Spiritbox is about to blow up, well deserved.

Cannibal Corpse in Ace Ventura is a gateway drug for a lot of budding musicians, for sure! Respect.

She seems like such a homie.

She's such an amazing inspiration for any female metal singer.

She's so chill.  She's like the girl next door. You would never know she is a metal superstar.

1:44 "At that point in my life, I was like 'oh, I see all the weird kids at school wearing shirts that say Linkin Park on them'" but little did Courtney know that she'd greatly impact the metal community not only for all the girls in this large music family but also the whole genre in general.

0:40 Fun fact. At the time that was Jim Carrey's favorite band. He had them cast them for this part.

I'm totally hypnotized by her speaking voice. It's so low & soothing.

Loudwire should make a "how I learned to scream" video with alex terrible.

Courtney’s transition from singing to screaming and back is amazing. It’s the first thing I noticed when I heard her. So talented!

If you dont know whos she, listen to holy roller and come back

She's a real deal. I've been listening to various genres of metal throughout my entire life and this girl's got the most insane female screams I've ever heard. I'm pretty sure many men envy her as well because it's just phenomenal

7:09 is living proof that it's harder to be a woman in the metal scene. I bet this is what discourages women from being performers in more intimate quarters like a metal show, they're prone to this type of ABUSE. Not okay.
And the rest of the video is proof that every musician starts somewhere and it's meant to be inspiring to new vocalists.

“ btw it was drop d so it was heavy” god i love her

Am I the only one who got angry when she says that she got touched at concerts when she started out performing? And it doesn't sound like that this problem vanished... People who do this at concerts to women/girls in the audience or bandmembers deserve a serious beating.

I didn't start trying to scream until I was 27 and didn't get good at it until I was 29. Never too late to start!

Would love to see a collab with Spiritbox and Jinjer

I can’t believe people try to grab her inappropriately while performing 😡! She is a metal goddess and should be treated with respect!

Everyone is a poser until they start doing it. You ain’t no poser anymore.
