What happens when someone takes control not only of your relationship, but of your reproductive choices too?

In Episode 22 of The B Brave Podcast, Chloe sits down face-to-face with Ebs for an incredibly raw conversation about domestic abuse, coercive control and reproductive coercion.

Ebs shares how an abusive relationship slowly stripped away her confidence, independence and sense of autonomy. She speaks about physical and sexual abuse, being controlled and isolated, discovering she was pregnant, and then being placed under relentless pressure to terminate a pregnancy she wanted to continue.

She also describes telling professionals that she felt pressured and controlled — yet not being given the language to understand that what she was experiencing had a name: reproductive coercion.

The conversation goes far beyond the relationship itself. Ebs talks about grief, trauma, her experience of the justice system, rebuilding her life, and eventually turning what happened to her into activism.

Today, she is the founder of HerHaven and the woman behind the My Choice Was Taken campaign, which is calling for reproductive coercion to be recognised more clearly within UK law.

This episode is about far more than what was taken from her.

It is about what she refused to let anyone take next: her voice.

Content warning: This episode contains discussion of domestic abuse, sexual assault, reproductive coercion, abortion/pregnancy loss, suicidal thoughts and threats involving weapons.
