Detection: [28:22] There was a reason why Sapnap yelled "The compass works in the Nether!" It's because that the main rules of Manhunt is that the hunters always has a compass that constantly points towards Dream at all times on the same dimension. It's like a radar that always tracks you but without giving distance or altitude. The hunters got excited because before the Minecraft Nether update, the compass didn't work in the Nether, but now it can track. Imagine having a radar that gets interference at a certain area, but now all the sudden it now works due to a fix and now you can track your enemy. This gives a huge benefit to the hunters, because now that it will be harder for the enemy to ambush. In war, information gives advantages by a huge margin, never downplay it.
Resource trade, a.k.a. Piglin barter: [33:48] What Dream is doing is trading with the locals in order to get ender pearls (goal is Eyes of Ender for The End dimension). This can be used to help him gear up to fight the enemy or retreat on a sporadic manner (ender pearls teleport you at cost of health). But just because Dream can trade with the locals, doesn't mean the hunters won't take advantage of it. Both sides get needed equipment while the locals get all the profit in this conflict.
Sabotage: [35:34] This is when Dream realizes that the hunters destroyed the blaze spawners, that is supposed to get him blaze rods to craft Eyes of Ender. This can be considered a Scorched Earth when the hunters destroy a needed resource in order the enemy to not have it. Of course they kind of messed it up by having Dream kill one of them giving him a chance to grab, from George's dropped items, the blaze rods needed to go towards his objective.
Use of recent innovation, a.k.a The lava boat jump: [30:27] What Dream just did was considered a recent discovery during his recording, the jump is supposed to be a fun fact shown on Reddit, and never used in a practical way in speed running or conflict. Dream used this recent discovery and turned it into a tactic to cross small lava rivers despite losing the boats and inventory space. This helps confuse the enemy and give more distance between them. But usually this only benefits once then the hunters might wise up... remember this lesson for future Manhunt videos, the hunters will wise up and do a counter play against a peculiar Redstone Machine. But I don't want to spoil, so you have to just watch 1v5 series in full to find out ;).
All and all, this can be considered a conflict, but like said with the compass, *there are rules to this conflict*. So this is not considered much of a war, more of a glorified blood sport in which is meant to *entertain*. Like for example, Dream cannot make another portal in the Nether. Because of how the mechanics work it would put the hunters in a HUGE disadvantage if Dream did, so he has to run back to the original portal so it would be fair for the hunters. Not only that, it would give the hunters time tp set up ambush challenges for Dream to face. But tactics is used here, with misdirection, traps, an constant arms race, unexpected tool usage, and quick in the moment reactions that could mean winning and losing. Thanks for reading this far and I hope you watch more of Dreams Manhunt videos, due to them getting smarter and more skilled as time goes on.
