As a Native American, I hate to say this, but this sounds like a Wannabe Skinwalker. Every tribe has their own version. Part of the lore is, when their found out, the Skinwalker mysteriously dies after their name is known.

I definitely agree to ALWAYS trust your gut. Your subconscious picks up on a lot more than your conscious mind, and that can set off alarm bells even when you don't really know why. So when your gut is telling you "something is wrong, you need to leave immediately", you should absolutely leave immediately. At the very least, be on much higher guard.

What's irritating is that back in the day incidents like these we're so rare people didn't take threat like this seriously. Awareness was so low back then that missing persons and stuff like that would go unnoticed

the fact that jean had a 300 year sentences is probably the reason the jury felt safe to acquit, because I wouldn't if I had enough doubt of Innocence as I would fear for new victims

This is just tragic. Those poor kids. The sheer horror they must've felt in the pitch black of the wilderness.. just imagining gives me chills

This was definitely more sad and enraging than it was scary. It all could have been prevented had they decided to cancel the season because they received a threat as serious as that.

You have to understand the vastly different times in which this happened. At a summer camp in the 70s, kids were still expected to be doing a degree of roughing it and with that comes risky behavior and tasteless pranks. It was only expected that councilors would write off a written threat about such an extreme crime, it sounded exactly like what a teen would do at the time. The camp is not to blame!

I live a couple about an hour and a half from there… this story was one of the saddest and worst things I’d ever heard as a kid

2:32 just gonna say, those are way nicer than what they gave Boy Scouts when I was in there. Girls get the better gear even in camp. XD

@Miyabi_melon_farmer 11 hours ago

15:19 and for a fact, the note said they finna murder EXACTLY 3 girls and they left EXACTLY 3 girls in the tend which is diabolical. 😭

6:02 You have to keep in mind Zai, that this is 1970's Oklahoma, this kind of stuff didnt happen, all the horror movie tropes weren't in the public consciousness as many had not even been written yet.
