I completely forgot Sunlesskhan went from Rocket League Videos to Historical Video Essays and got jumpscared by the voice 😭🙏

Didn’t know sunlesskhan had a history channel

So this is where I find out SunlessKhan has a history channel sick

Never expected Joe to react to sunlesskhan

Joe's commentary does add a lot to the video. Instead of just saying things that don't add anything, he really does step up these videos and that's why I love watching them.

My middle school 7th grade history teacher brought actual FULLY REAL! Weapons to class and used them on watermelons and boxes and shit. He had katanas, mace, spear, flails, nunchucks. It was so fucking cool.😎

11:00 - Fun fact about the longbow; anthropologists are able to tell who was trained in the longbow based solely on the difference of bone density in their arms.

10:50 that’s definitely the body builders Joe was talking about

3:50 accounts from the first european settlers in australia that cover a fight between aboriginal groups say that boomerangs would cleave people's skulls EASILY. We think of the toy versions that are really small and light but a boomerang made to hurt people is sharp along the edge and it has some fucking HEFT to it, it's almost like throwing a light hatchet at somebody's head.

2:04 Joe pausing the video to talk about a weapon hes trying to remember exactly on the second it shows up and is about to be explained is killing me

8:15 I need to say this because I love the Black death. The Mongols most likely did not launch dead bodies into Kaffa during the siege. That came from a single report by a person who wasn't actually there for the battle. Also, the person who said that was a Catholic, and the Mongols were muslim, as such, not only did he have reason to make them seem barbaric, but it was also an excuse for why the Catholics in the city would be dying from a plague that some saw as punishment from God.

6:45 They should bring leaders fighting alongside their people back

14:50 Fun fact, In this period, armor could actually stop bullets. When armor would be created, it would be "proofed" before use, by firing a bullet into it, and the dent left by the bullet would be used as a selling point. This is actually where the term "bulletproof" came from. The reason armor stopped being used is just because the weight and cost started to get too high, it wasn't because armor couldn't stop bullets.

0:34 My head cannon is that it’s a rock first because I can just see two early humans having a fist fight and one of them gets knocked on the ground and grabs a rock to hit the other in the head. Then I think shortly after that is a wooden club. No sharp objects until much later blunt instruments are just easier to utilize.

absolute unskippable notification

Actual ancient boomerangs were made from sharpened hardwood and were wayyy heavier because they werent made to come back but to fly accurately and impacy the target with as much concentrated force as possible

Now we need to see the evolution of adult toys

6:50 Yeah Julius Caesar would regularly just take a shield from one of his men and get right into the thick of the fighting boost his men’s morale and sometimes he’d call certain ones out WHILE fighting to shame them into fighting harder 😂

Recognized SunlessKhan's voice at the first line. I fully forgot he had an history channel beside his rocket league one. Made me jump on my chair a bit

21:32 that was called the trench shotgun. They outlawed it because the German said that it was too powerful. You would hold down the trigger and pump his shotgun in each time it would fire another round, though it was not fully automatic.
