Hope the Crusher is dancing the polka with all the Dollies in heaven.

One day in the early 60's my mother came home from lunch and said the Crusher ate at the same restaurant. I misunderstood and thought my mother said she ate lunch with the Crusher. I got so excited that I went around the block and knocked on each door and told the lady of the house that my mother ate lunch with the Crusher. I went to bed without dinner that night and was forbidden to knock on any more doors.

you tell anyone in Wisconsin you like wrestling the first thing they ask is "have you heard of the Crusher?" Like I'm only 24 I wasn't even born when he was alive lol. He has his own statue and every two years they have Crusherfest, it's really fun! They have vendors live wrestling meet and greets. It's a great tribute to the Crusher and turns the newer generation (like me) into Crusher fans!

When the bruiser and crusher appeared together in Chicago back in the seventies, the place went crazy like they were the Beatles appearing.

The Crusher and Dick the Bruiser were huge in the mid west in the 70s.

THIS IS SO WEIRD. I have been dying for him to talk about The Crusher! He’s got a statue in Milwaukee too!

My dad is not a wrestling fan, but he grew up in Indiana and his cousins watched wrestling. Pretty much the only wrestlers he ever talks about are Bruiser and Crusher.

In the AWA the Crusher was introduced as "the man who made Milwaukee famous."

The Crusher is a legendary figure here in Wisconsin.

The Crusher seemed genuinely appreciative when I introduced myself to him while we both were in attendance at the Wisconsin High School State Wrestling Tournament in Madison. I had brought my son while Reggie was there to see his grandson participate. I just had to thank him for an amazing career.

Bockwinkel making 150K on top in 1980 is 574K today in 2024 ... pretty good for a light schedule

As Rodger Kent use to say. "The Crusher can do no wrong."

The Crusher and Tommy Rich were Ga tag team champions for about 2-3weeks. Heenan managed Blackjack Lanza, The Superstar, Killer Karl Kox and Ernie Ladd.

While it is true that Crusher only knew a few holds at best, It would not be fair to say he was a poor worker. Harley said that Crusher worked "light as a feather". Crusher never injured anyone. Jobbers say that the bolo was an easy finisher to take. Crusher put more asses in more seats, over more decades than anyone in the Midwest. Unlike Pot Belly Tommy Rich , Crusher had a flat stomach and 3 times the muscle mass.

I saw him in early '87 at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago. He filled in for the Dynamite Kid in a British Bulldogs tag-team match. This was when Dynamite's back was so bad he could barely walk. The Bulldogs would lose the tag team belts to the Hart Foundation soon after. When they announced the Crusher would be replacing Dynamite, a roar came from the crowd but I was 14 and had no idea who he was. LOL
