Herco Flex 75 is not .75 mm but is ~1.01mm in thickness with the playing point & thicker at the grip. 75 means the year it came out. The Herco Holy Grail Flex 75 is the same thickness but with denser nylon, whiter colored, that is the pick Jimmy Page prefers. Just as the Herco '66 series means the year & how they were back then with those variation thicknesses. The gold colored Flex 50 is ~.65 mm at the playing point & is more in line with your sweet spot theory.

The '66s & 50 were Flexion nylon with different gauges. The 75 was originally what the Holy Grail is now. At some point they used Flexion for the 75. Which Page also used until the Holy Grail came back out by Dunlop.
