CFMOTO Ibex 450 Freeway Test + Top Speed and Acceleration Test

Dork in the Road

Can the CFMOTO Ibex 450 handle freeway speeds? With a small 450cc motor, many have questions about whether or not the CFMOTO Ibex 450 freeway performance is adequate. So, I took the Ibex 450 on the freeway to find out just how well it does at speeds over 70 miles per hour.

Not at all surprisingly, riding the Ibex 450 on the freeway is a breeze. It has plenty of power and weighs enough to feel planted even when semi trucks drive by. The Ibex 450 motor can feel a little buzzy at 75+ but it's completely tolerable.

As far as Ibex 450 Top Speed, I had no problem getting it up to 90+ on several attempts. I love riding this thing on the highway. It's a fantastic small adventure bike.

ALSO the Ibex does not have throttle by wire. I ride too many bikes and get them confused, apparently.

I shed a tear seeing the vast green fields of the great Northwest of Mexico....

I hit the limiter at 99 mph. It did not hit the rev limiter... has more to go there, but the motor bogged out at 99 mph. Thanks CFMoto for trying to keep us safe... or to keep your bike from blowing up. NEAT Machine, that is for sure.

Ya know what I like best about your channel? In the first 20 seconds, even before your intro, you state the topic AND the conclusion! Amazing. So incredibly rare these days. Thanks for not being a bullshit click-baity creator. Your stuff is great!

I just purchased one yesterday. I go pick it up today. Can't wait to get it out on the road.

Good video! Be super careful in Mexico. The cops are notorious. Especially in those small, non descript towns where the stop signs are in English. Keep up the good work!

It's really interesting that your RPMs are about 200-300 lower at 80 mph than for me (~7200 vs 7500 rpm). At first I assumed you had put on the 15t sprocket but then realized you are running the Tusk 2Track 140/80/18 on the rear which effectively lowers the gearing slightly (since it's about 4% bigger than stock) Makes perfect sense since 300 rpm is ~4% of 7500 rpm! I was on the fence about getting the new Tusk 2Tracks given that my stock tires only have 600 miles on them, but having the better traction and slightly lower effective gearing (without changing the sprocket) truly is a win/win.

You had me going, I thought you were gonna hit that corner at 60mph! Thanks for the information, keep being awesome man!

I'm picking my ibex up this Tuesday! I'm so excited. Thanks for the awesome videos to keep me sane while waiting

Just the video I was looking for. Great job.

The Ibex is NOT throttle by wire. I was thinking of the Himalayan. Hard to keep all the details straight sometimes at 75mph.

You went above and beyond finding stunt drivers to simulate actual traffic on that closed course somewhere in Mexico.

Looks perfect for what I'm going to use it for a couple of hours on highway riding to get to the best camping spots

Hello, from the Philippines. I had the same problem with the light switch when pressing the clutch. I just adjusted the lever downwards. It solved the issue for me without shaving anything

This was just what i wanted to see, it has enough power to drive normally on the highways and still be able to pass, nice vid, Mexico looks good this time a year!

The ad was good. You got a chuckle out of me. Props. But, I am actually here to say that your flying eyes sticker placement was brilliant. Subtle and effective. Well done sir...

Thank you, Ben for that awesome video. Great to see that the Ibex could do over 80 mph in Mexico.
Sounds very smooth and it looks like it handles very well. I like the tall windshield thanks for the video. Looking forward to your next one.

I just got my Himi 450 at Willamette Valley Indian & Royal Enfield and I was quite pleasantly surprised by how well it handled the trip back down south on the freeway.
