The more hard-core adventure crowd refer to this downsizing trend as "chasing the unicorn". Finding that balance between weight, power, on road and offroad capabilities. The manufacturers, like you say, seem to have ended up around the 450 end with these bikes. The CF Moto 450 seems to be praised by all that ride it. Thanks for the vid Andy.

check out Mario Roman, what he can do on this bike is out of this world! 😂

Great video.
I'm in my late 60's and downsized from a heavy 1200 cc to the 450MT.
I've had the bike since May and absolutely love it.  Fitted the rally seat for more comfort and leg room. The bike is a joy to ride whether motorway, country lanes, gravel tracks or potholes. Truly is a bike you can't stop riding.

With the state of the roads and cameras everywhere you can’t really hammer a big  bike anymore

Usernamekate just bought one for her and Mike, with their own money👍
I liked the clarity of the speedo.
Nothing wrong with affordable Chinese bikes.
Cheers, Neil🏍

the CF Moto 450 MT & KTM 390 Adventure R stole the show, and have been eating every body lunch since.

I am sure that I have said this before, but when I started riding in the 80s 400-650 cc bikes weren't seen as small. Most of us managed perfectly well with these and bikes over 1000cc were viewed as very big. For my daily commuting my Royal Enfield 350 and 411 are perfectly suited. Sometimes I choose to use my bigger bikes, but in all honesty, if I had to have just one bike, it would be one of the smaller ones.

Nice bike ty for taking us along

I'm glad you've started looking at the Chinese bikes. A good bit of variety and not just the usual suspects. There seems to be a lot of potential for this CFMOTO 450 MT. Cheaper insurance, capable off road, enough power for comfortably cruising on motorways, economical and a good price 👍

2800 miles on my “25” ibex 450! Mostly 2 track dirt, absolutely love it

Really nice bike stay safe out there mate

I reckon the reason bigger bikes are losing their appeal is twofold: older riders can’t lift them, and younger riders can’t afford them.

Excellent vid Andy - looks like an awesome machine!

Yup! A few months back I was doing a solo tour around Europe, and I was bimbling down an autobahn at around 80MPH, and thinking things over (like you do) and it struck me that something around 500CC, or around 60HP was more than adequate for most riding situations, and a bike of that size is going to be lighter, more nimble, more economical, just as capable, and probably more fun. I would add that I've owned several 130HP+ bikes

Nice review. It was great to hear it rev out.  I like hearing your view point.. Good one.

The sweet spot is the Kawa z900rs

The accessories are ridiculously inexpensive too as are parts and yeah there are factory heated grips you can get but they are sold out all over at the moment.  Look up Uncle Wang's Shop to see what the parts and accessory prices are like.  I've got a full de-cat titanium header and a flashed ECU coming and it was $450 or so, crazy.

Great review.

As a sister to my GSA, the lighter bike, lower power and smooth little twin is so nice. It's a lot more carefree and enjoyable when poking around in tight places and just crawling along looking at scenery out in the woods.  If I was shorter, this bike could just replace my GSA really, it's just a bit too tight for long hauling for me though and I do like more power on highways here.  I like this bike a lot more than the 690R that it replaced.

Great  video lovely looking bike ideal for a good plod around , touring would  be a struggle two up
