Shimoneta: A Boring World Where The Concept Of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist is amazing.

It's one of the very few anime I bought the box set for.

It came with a single sock, lol.

10:30 This shot of Yanineko with her head shaved helps make the anatomy of the cat ears on a cat person make so much sense. It's cursed, but it makes sense that there aren't two sets of ears.

Firefighters CAN smoke, however if they're smoking it's because they're on fire.

0:58 It's called Shimoneta, a very family-friendly show 😊

Neila: my roommate hides the sangria from me cause I’ll drink it all.

(Proceeds to say exactly where it’s hidden)

Me: wtf it’s not hidden if you know?

Neila: they put it up high where I can’t reach it!

(Spits out my drink laughing)

Incidentally, I'm sure we'd all love to see a Neila react stream for Chainsmoker Cat and/or Shimoneta :p

4:11 that's "Bug's Life" by Pixar. You might enjoy it, basically an animated bug version of "Seven Samurai"

So the reason why Hameko has that as part of her name is because she wanted to be cute with her name. So, she put * on her name like it’s supposed to be a star. The workers were confused at what it was supposed to be and finally assumed it was supposed to be that hole.

Honestly, anybody who thinks this show is too gross or too unhinged would never have survived the early 00's. It's honestly pretty tame in comparison to shows from that period.

I grew up around smokers, so this anime felt terribly relatable to me at various points.

30:36: I sh*t you not, this actually is the explanation for this character but it's like 87% Accurate.
How the heck did you know Neila.

For this series I love that for as much as it shows how completely awful cigarette addiction is, Yani's preferred brand is an actual, real life brand of cigarettes in Japan.
Guess they thought "Exposure is exposure"...

29:14 neila got so spooked she turned back to white hair lmao

The Japan dropping it thing should probably be taken with a grain of salt, because the people actually saying so are notorious for being straight up wrong

0:50 Shimoneta was my first anime, after that, anything seems normal anime

9:30 construction and heavy machine operating and farming are the only ones i know of that you can smoke all the time.

1:04 someone probably already beat me to the punch but the name of that anime is a world where the concept of dirty jokes doesn't exist

The sad thing is, as someone who lives in disabled housing, I live with people that are all like the nekos seen in the anime. Maybe not to that degree, but they've gotten close.
