I was born in Liverpool, we are a self assured city.

A few years ago there was a poll around 3 major UK cities.
94% of Manchester said they thought Manchester was the second City in the Uk.
95% of Birmingham said the thought Birmingham was the second city.
98% of Liverpool said they thought London was the second city.

Henry Tate was a British industrialist who made his fortune in sugar refining and left his collection of art to the nation. There are now four galleries around the UK named after him.

I'm a Londoner and I love Liverpool

Liverpool is known for having the most successful English football club in history. The most successful band in history. And a lot more. A unique place with defiantly unique and welcoming people.

The Food scene is incredible in Liverpool at the moment

What do you mean youd be worried about going in something built in 1969, thats new everywhere apart from new countries like the US😅😂

FYI
Free entrance to museums and art galleries is standard practice in the UK.
The Mersey is Liverpool's river.
Maritime relates to seaborne trade or naval matters.

I live in Liverpool. It's an amazing city. It's exactly like nothing else. It's amazing!

The latest batman film was filmed in Liverpool because of its unique architecture. Liverpool has the most grade 1 listed buildings in Britain outside of London from the Georgian and Victorian period including the largest brick building in the world.

As a native of the UK I confess I had never been to Liverpool until 10 years ago. I visited with an old university friend who was visiting from Toronto. We were both really impressed by the city. It has a vibrant feel and a truly historic waterfront with some grand old buildings not really captured on this video. The Beatles Story museum is located on the stunning waterfront at the Royal Albert Dock - the docks have been re-purposed as The Beatles Museum, cafes, restaurants, interesting boutique shops and other visitor attractions - it has a great vibe amongst the beautifully restored old dock buildings.

Liverpool is great the people are so friendly, the words of the song "Ferry cross the Mersey" by Gerry Marsden sums it up exactly

Hop on Hop off buses are common in a lot of large cities in Europe. You pay for a 24 hour ticket allowing you to use the buses all day, they usually run pretty frequently so if you get off to visit a tourist attraction there should be a short wait for the next one.

Thanks to everyone praising Liverpool here.

It’s taken a lot of effort to get out of the place we were in when deindustrialisation and poverty started to set in.

Today we are reborn, thriving, vibrant and as ever - welcoming.

To the future!

Liverpool girl here. Glad to hear you like the look of our city!

I love Liverpool I live in the South of England but I will happily travel to spend time in Liverpool it's by far my favourite city.

Liverpool FC is one of the world’s most famous football clubs.

The Tate Gallery is one of the most famous art galleries in the world and Tate Liverpool is a regional branch of it.

National Museums and art galleries in the UK are generally free. Only private Museums generally charge. Liverpool has the largest collection of free museums/art galleries outside of London.

I actually ate at the revolving restaurant. It was weired as you would look away from the scenery to eat and talk, and when you looked back there was a different view. The worst thing was when I went to the toilet, which was in the centre and none revolving (thank god). But when you came back out you didn't know which way to walk to get to your table! In the end I just stood there and waited for my table to come back round again 😂

Liverpool has a long historical connection with the USA in so many ways. It was actually where the Civil War officially ended, when the Confederate raider, the CSS Shenandoah, sailed up the Mersey in Nov. 1865 and surrendered at the US consulate there. That original consulate was the very first one opened by the fledgling USA in 1790; and includes amongst its former consuls one Nathaniel Hawthorne. It's now a Cote Bistro on Paradise St, but Google Street View shows a heavy hint as to its original function above the main entrance.
