How to replaceba striped or burnt out motor on a makita LS1018 Miter saw.

This makita saw has done a lot of work and stripped out the gears on the armature and bevel gear.

I wouldn't be a big fan of these saws, as they are in no way accurate. But they are tough and repairable.

This repair is on the expensive side, but its still a third of the cost of replacing the saw.

Plus this in a very easy repair anyone could bo at home.

I have a friend who is a retired builder/remodeler. He never bought top of the line tools for his jobs because he figured the people using them would inevitably leave them out in the rain, drop them from the upper stories or just leave them out where they would get stolen. I bought some left over tools from him and can confirm, they were in a miserable state.

Dean makes it look easy but it’s harder in real life. Thanks Dean I’m going to download this video for future repair of my ls1018L . I use that saw for dirty work since I change the blade. Tried heating it a bit and it still stuck and the bolt is rounded off abit😢
