Thank you for the film

It is amazing how the progress of ski equipment has improved the carving and arcing of the skis.

Interesting how Killy has the parallel shin look, Stenmark, A frame look and now back to parallel shins with the new shaped skis. I’m 71 and has taken me a lot of work to get rid of that horrendous A frame look!

Fantastic work!!! Personally, I wish there was a better look at the boots the racer were wearing. This was the time Lang was finally getting it's act together. Lang had made inroads with the Canadian team but was still working hard against the money of the European companies to get farther. That probably explains why Bob Beattie the coach of the US team refuse to let the US Team even try Lang boots. Jean Claud Kiely at one point was using a fiberglass boot with leather strips glued over to look like a leather boot.

Ummm; . . . From 1948 through 1980, the International Ski Federation (FIS) designated the alpine skiing events at the Winter Olympics to double as the official Alpine Ski World Championships. Because they were the exact same races, the events held at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, France, automatically crowned the World Champions for that year. There was no separate, standalone World Championship tournament. ( In the present day the World Championships are held every 2 years on odd years, e.g., World Championships were held in 2025, 2023, 2021, 2019 etc etc ) So . . . Killy won 3 gold medals in 1968, not 6. If , as to the "6 gold medals," you are actually referring to individual, non-Olympic World Cup races, or a combination of such races, won by Killy in 1968, such World Cup races are not part of any "World Championships" but are merely World Cup races, and you don't get a gold medal for winning any such race or combination of such races. At the end of the World Cup season, the racer with the most points in slalom will win the "World Cup Slalom Title", not a gold medal, and the same for GS, Downhill (and in today's world, Super G).The racer with the most points overall will win the World Cup Overall Title, but not a "World Championship" and not a gold medal. Anyway, the film footage is great, and kudos for preserving it!!
