A tugboat is basically two huge engines bolted on a frame.
They’re extremely powerful.

Shout out to the cruise ship staff who not only had to suffer all the same conditions as the passengers... but also had to deal with the passengers.

I swear, Berry has the most adorable laugh on YouTube.

4:40 They used a code phrase to prevent passenger panic...but they made it sound like the AI of a Resident Evil laboratory declaring a containment breach.

If an AI lady voice wakes me up in the middle of the night calling for 'ALPHA TEAM' I am seriously considering jumping overboard.

27:20 It's always $500, because $500 is the minimum they can offer you and later claim you can't sue, because you already accepted compensation. Never take the first offer.

We got a law in germany that says you cant just put goofy ahh shit in your terms of service, so that cruise would have gotten lawsuited to smithereens

Berry's laugh makes the sad go away

Berry's laugh heals my sadness. Not even joking I was feeling down today and her shit ass giggle already have me laughing dude

It feels like the main thing lacking that causes a lot of these cruise disasters are safety negligence and cut corners. In a way, it’s just like how airplanes are.

Some context, modern diesel engines run off direct injection which means the fuel is injected straight into the cylinders. Due to a bunch of technical reasons I can elaborate on if needed, the fuel needs to be sprayed in through very tiny holes at very high pressure, sometimes as high or higher as 30,000psi depending on application. For reference, what probably broke was the lower pressure fuel system which operates around/under 60 psi. Still plenty of pressure to spray fuel at a significant pace all over the place.

I was actually on a cruise on the Triumph after this incident, as a gift from my family. I went with my aunt and cousins. Beforehand, none of us knew or heard anything about this incident. All I knew is that something bad had happened before on that ship and I only knew that much because another passenger told me that he got a free ticket for this cruise as compensation from Carnival for an incident from the previous year. Watching this video, I broke into a sweat thinking how "crappy" things could have gotten for me on that cruise. Thank you for your videos, Berry! You have an infectious laugh! :D

22:17 You see, it's because the tugboat, for it's size, is the most powerful craft afloat

Someone said Berry laughs like a baby and I can't unhear it

You know, when you play Leisure Suit Larry 7 (an adult game, not for kids) and see how crappy the inside structures of the cruise ship are, you expect it to be a joke!

28:15 "I don't want to think of the words "juicy scoop" next to poop" followed immediately by a splash sound and berry going "woah"
....that's disgusting XD

before covid i joked with my parents who liked cruises that i would never get stuck on a stationary norovirus machine. i stand true to my commitment to this day.

The poor Engineers who were working to fix anything they could during the whole disaster while also not being able to use a toilet or eat much. . .

5:29 just for context, diesel does not work like gasoline. You can take a blow torch to a puddle of diesel and nothing will happen. Diesel is only ignited by compression + heat, not just one or the other. Since the guy talks about how a fire did star, this was probably bunker oil, not diesel. Bunker oil is kinda like a mix of diesel and gas, and is commonly used in the shipping industry.

2:13 literally the first thing you learn abort any vessel is NEVER piss or shit over the railing. different from land, the ocean moves around. It's not as predictable as one would think. people have vanished never to be seen again, doing their business on the railing. It is dangerous and it's one of those rules that have been written in blood.

Pretty sure this also got featured on a miniseries via Netflix, along with other disasters akin to this one.
The overall series is called Train Wreck.
