Cost breakdown:

Controller kit: $73 https://www.amazon.com/40A-Controller...

Motor: salvaged, new motor would be $150

Battery: $200 (link no longer available to buy)

Bike frame: $80 off Facebook marketplace

total: $503

Note that you can buy a complete motor kit (https://www.amazon.com/20-Inch-Electr...) for $280 instead of buying stuff separate, but if you get a rear motor for cheap somewhere then buying the controller kit is better

Lower the seat all the way down to the frame.. take off all those horrible looking stickers and fenders… ditch them.. you should go back to the original handlebars in the first photo.. get dirt bike style handlebars.. get one of those storage gas tank things for a minibike and re-organize your battery to fit inside.. I would take off all the red and either paint the chrome.. but I would leave some chrome poke through but you need to polish that chrome.. with aluminum foil after you take off the stickers it will remove all the rust you’ll be surprised… then polish it… I would leave parts of the front forks, chrome, and some parts of the frame chrome.. but paint the rest a nice glossy black.. with super thin, silver metal flakes. And try to get rid of the chopper like look . But when your seat is real low down to the tire with no fender, that is bad ass looking…. You need to definitely get rid of that back fender…… but your tires need to be the same size front and back..

Now you need to get the same style forks but wider and put a wide 20 inch mag rim on the front with the same size tire… you can take the front end off of a Jesse James chopper it’s wider.. or just get something else… but you need to get straight tires. Get some actual Moto tires on it…. Bicycle tires are just too thin…. You can get actual Moto tires to fit 20 inch frames… and give it a paint job man.. or you can take aluminum foil pill off all the stickers and rub it all over the frame. It will take off all the rust…. Get rid of those cheesy looking stickers either way…. Lower the sea, and get yourself a better smaller pair of handlebars, you know like dirtbike style….. and put a false gas tank on it something that could be used for storage or to hold the battery
