Could ARK's Giga Survive Monster Hunter: World?

Madly Mesozoic

In this episode of Assessing Survival, we ask if ARK's Giganotosaurus Furiousa could survive Monster Hunter's New World, where they will encounter monsters such as Anjanath, Deviljho, and Nergigante. Join me as we weigh their strengths and weaknesses, as well as speculate on their future. Oh, and of course boots will be made.

Im glad everyone is enjoying the video. There was quite a few things I cut out in the interest of getting this video out sooner rather than later. Mostly lore from both games and details about the Spec-Evos that would've required more animation/drawing (probbably wouldve taken me another week or so and I got bills to pay)
Anywho, be sure to check out this infographic I made that will be the standard for how the Assessment score is reached. https://tinyurl.com/AS-Scoring

from "overwhelming apex predator" to "that one big-ass brute wyvern with no elements"

My favorite thing about the giga is that Ark dinos all have internal "temperaments" that affect their AI. While other dinosaurs are something like "passive, territorial, carnivorous", gigas are just "angry".

AND HERE COMES RAJANG WITH THE STEEL CHAIR!

@Ochocolatefrio 1 year ago

The fact that nergigante is immune to dread ailment is so funny to me, because nergigante is the embodiment of doom slayer in a monster "the only thing that should feel fear... Is you..."

BY GOG, IT'S RUINER NERGIGANTE WITH A STEEL CHAIR!

Seeing ARKs' element incorporated like this into the evolutionary tree was just absolute peak. All the speculative adaptations were so creative and authentic aswell! Best 40 minutes spent on YT for a while

Leave it to Nergi to hit an RKO outa nowhere then stare down the hunter who was struggling like “seriously? This guy was difficult for you?”

That Monster Hunter inspired Giga icon looks awesome! He looks like a Deviljho subspecies

I will forever feel vindicated on the community switching stances on Nerg’s scaling. He got so much hate to the point people claimed Ruiner was a rajang victim, only for the game devs to come out and confirm he is the one and only canonical predator to Shara Ishvalda one of the stronger elder dragons in the entire series capable of plateauing mountains with a scream💀

The Basiotama males sneakong in to spend time with the Kestodons is just adorable. The Allocium's interactions with dragon energy and electric energy is fascinating. Gromoreval is such a fun Godzilla look alike, and the conflict with Rajang is just great. Dread Element is a fascinating thing, and Mutodroch is a fascinating threat. While Gromoreval is conflicting with the other Wyverns, it's a part of the ecosystem, and Basiotama even more so. But the Mutodroch is such an anathema thing to the world, warping traits of the world into weapons agaisnt it.

I love how you went above and beyond by setting up a story how the giga adapting and spreading element corruption. Ruiner nergi makes perfect sense as a species that could cleanse element corruption before it gets too dangerous.

Also, this got me thinking about if the basal Giganoto had a set of weapons and armor:

Armor design: a suit of thick metal armor similar to that of Flak from ark, but with its spiky skin layered over part of the chestplate and waist like a heavy coat, giving an imperious look. The scales would be cut from the back and polished/dyed to bring out its navy blue color. Glowing eyes can be seen through the visor, referencing its rage mode in Ark. The Palico set would have a big poofy cloak with teeth on it.

The weapons would have high raw, 10 percent crit, high white sharpness but extremely low blue, green and yellow, like valstrax. This references how the ark giga does a ton of damage, but has very low stamina.

This is the most ambitious and creative video regarding displaced species in a new environment yet.

It’s cool to see that these Giga evolutions drop element when killed. If the base giga was there, I could see it drop the same.

Edit: The element turning purple is not a good thing. Means that it is ready to spread and corrupt everything around it. It they are not careful, the whole world could be infected and corrupted. Just like the earth in the Ark universe.

WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY

Lowkey as a long time ark player it still sounds so off hearing people say “ark survival ascended” cuz im used to ascended like, not existing and it only being evolved
