An effect that is seldom discussed. As a competitive swimmer and cyclist for many decades I always knew how hard I could push myself and how long it would take to recover. All that is out the window on HRT. It's easy to go too far when I am on auto pilot remembering how things used to be. It requires some re-education to get to know this aspect of the new me.

You may be feeling weaker physically but damn, you are so strong!
When you mentioned physical strength was something you've been proud of, I thought about it (Not strength but anything like that important to me personally) and I don't think I'd be taking it nearly as well as you do...

It is amazing that you mentioned that at 4:45, people don't realize how many factors there are to the way your body reacts to the new condition.
( But obviously what you say and your opinion on the matter is extremely valuable)

I want you to know that I found your video absolutely helpful and I really do appreciate it. I was looking for a video about this subject and even though I wrote HRT the results were almost all about TRT. Your video was so low on the results sadly... But I'm glad I found it!

I started hrt at a weight of 235lbs. I am now at 175, which, for me is HWP. I wanted to reflect on your  physical strength loss focus. You seem to be looking at this as a 'bad' thing, which to me, seems somewhat related to your prior life as a man, where it was a 'good' thing.  Interestingly, I look at my muscle loss as a good thing, as it brings my body more into alignement with the female physique I seek. All my life, I have worked hard, developed woodworking skills, which I can still do, but the tools, and the wooden items I build do seem heavier. It makes it harder to do the work, or perhaps, challenging. Yet, I cannot look at this and complain. It is what I sought, to take hormones and feminize myself, which includes testosterone reduction and muscle loss. There is no cause for worry, or complaint, here.

Great video and videos. But your video is about the experience of a young trans woman. I am a trans woman in my 50s soon to go on HRT. All the stuff you talk about is really the reality of older trans women.

My motivation to work out is to get my body back into fitness and to be the woman I want to be. And its hard to motivate myself. The aches and pains and recovery are a lot harder the older you get.

I saw in a comment that you mentioned VA healthcare. Have you been able to access trans healthcare through the va? If so, I’m all fucking ears.
My initial experience with va healthcare (1yr with the mental health dep) was really kind of scarring and has deterred me from going back to any kind of mental health professional in the last few years.
At this point, I’m finding a way back which has been and will be a long process. Id love to hear about your experience with the VA like can you make a video about the process of accessing care that you have experienced? If a video doesn’t make sense… umm email me. I’m a child of the 90s lol

Comment #2 : Perhaps what you can do is alter the types of exercise you do. Get away from the familar, and focus on endurance enxercise, long-term walking/jogging/running, for example.

I am transitioning into 13month, diffnitly my legs arm is weeker, but also prier to HRT, I lost 30lb in 5month without dieting. Dr requested blood test, found my lavel of Testateron  was almost unreadable. , Then went on to HRT continued loss of mussel . It is suddenly norticed when was playing friend's daughter , was going to lift her but I couldn't, finding out in different situations. One moment confused next moment am happy . Means that I am becoming more female.
