The reason:  Because Chris and his father (J.R.R.) died.  The family never cared about the estate except for Chris. Which is why JRR left the entire thing to him.  Now that Chris has passed the family are cashing in. RIP Tolkien's Legacy.

Peter Jackson doing his possessed King Theoden impersonation

That conversation between Peter Jackson and Stephen Colbert has as much authenticity as the one between Dominique Thorn and RDJ before Ironheart was released.

Peter Jackson kind of looked like someone in a hostage video.  I couldn't decide if he was being threatened with money or harm offscreen.

Reminds me of the Steven seagal story.
Seagal: I just read the best script ever
Rob: oh who wrote it?
Seagal: I did 😂😂😂😂

Steven Colbert writing a LOTR movie is proof that “The Nothing” from Neverending Story is real and spreading.

Not only will Elanor be a girlboss, but the "long buried secret" she discovers will be something completely and absurdly lore breaking.   Just because.

Peter Jackson looks absolutely dead inside, it's like they dragged his corpse out of a Numenorian tomb or something ...

just to spite those who really care about Tolkien's world, it's really that simple.

1:35 Peter sounds like the life's been sucked out of him, because it has. He exhausted himself making 3 extra movies no one asked for, including a pretty bad health scare, and now hes producing this trash. Actually, hes like bilbo: feeling old, like butter scraped over too much bread.

A North Korean citizen writing a movie about democracy and freedom would be 10x better than the shit Colbert will come up with

I am a Tolkien Nerd and have been for 50 years, I'm not developing a Tolkien project.

I get the impression that Hollywood is personally invested in protecting Steven Colbert from the consequences of failure.

He doesn't even write his own jokes.  So he is a perfect hire!

Sauron is orange in Colbert's interpretation of Tolkien's work.

It's a real life scouring of the Shire. Colbert is Wormtongue, interfering where you thought he would never be. Or maybe he's Sharkey. Whichever, we don't want him here. The guy is poisonous.

They wanted to make sure we don't go see it.

The villain of this series is Saurange Man. 🍊

LotR: TDS Edition.  Sam's daughter will befriend a young orc girl and together with the long-lost female blue wizards will learn that the Gondorians were the evil ones all along.  They will liberate Arwen from Aragorn's clutches and create a utopia in the free state of Mordor.
