I'm aware that doing something like this is probably gonna stir people up. That's not my intention. I found this project to be interesting, and it really got me to think about my own feelings.

I hope this video is received well by the man himself, and if the discussion happens then we'll see you soon!

I knew Eternal fans would turn into the new 2016 fans when criticizing the new game. History does repeat itself.

Why is "Why is doom the dark ages SO DISAPPOINTING?" so disappointing?

People discussing things in 2025?
Crazy, I'm so used to people who dont play games just hurling slurs at each other

It doesn't sound like he played Doom Eternal when he said Dark Ages is more linear. Uhh.... this is the least linear out of the 3 games.

Mayo complementing the Alien Isolation AI was the biggest plot twist in this video.

I got randomly copyright struck for 13 seconds of a song used in Act Man's video, so after 48 minutes you're gonna hear a random stupid song in place of him talking about the game being a 8/10 and "making people think it's worse than it is".

Sorry.

Its funny how apparent it is that the goal was NEVER to just make the same game twice, yet people expected it.

Funny because glory kills were complained about when 2016 came out lol

It just seems like people just want too hate on everything now even if it’s different, Hugo even said that he wants every Doom game too feel different!

I think TDA glory kills are cool in a different way. To treat a cyberdemon like fodder by backhanding him with the shield is so satisfying. "Know your place trash" boots

He's complaining about melee ammo, when Eternal had blood punch ammo?

He's complaining about how it wouldn't work in Halo, when energy swords and gravity hammers were always ammo based?

Act Man explain?

I don’t think Glory kills are disruptive in a game like Doom Eternal because it is like a mini break from all the jumping and shooting and whatever crazy crap you pulled a second ago. Dark Ages doesn’t need mini breaks because you don’t jump a lot.

I did honestly find it hilarious that people were whining about the new game as if we didn’t have the same thing happen with eternal, people want a sequel then complain if it’s to much of the same or not enough. Honestly all 3 modern DOOM games fit phenomenally into separate niches.

The game being a hybrid of melee and shooting is literally why I enjoy this idea. There AREN'T other games like this out there! I don't want to play a game that's just melee, if I did then I'd be a Soulsborne fan. The blend of melee with shooting is something that I've wanted for ages because there are not a lot of games that let you play within "mid-range" combat. It's either full on close up or you stay far away. This is not what I'm looking for so I'm really enjoying Dark Ages focusing on that area.

Anyone else notice how The Act Man always waits for the community to decide how they feel about something before dropping his own 'take'?

Edit: what’s up act man.

id: "This game isn't gonna be like Eternal"

Players: "WHY ISN'T THIS GAME LIKE ETERNAL?" 😡

Thank the Khan we got fast glory kills rune in Eternal, really helps after a few hundred hours.

" it's not Doom Eternal" "it feels too arcadey" Jesus christ 🤦‍♂️
