The fact Joe's videos always end with 'I gotta take a piss' and then followed by the hardest music ever never fails to crack me up.

Jart fartalozie

Joe's headset dent will one day reach his frontal lobe

12:53 Some Soviets decided to tattoo images of Lenin & Stalin on their chest, because they believed that if they were to be fired at, the shooter might hesitate to shoot, knowing he would get in trouble for destroying an image of the leader.

My great grandma was literally shipped off and sent to the gulag just bc she owned a bread business my grandmother never saw her again and refused to talk about it whenever my mom or I would ask.

I'm polish, and in high school we have a compulsory lecture/book for matura exam. It's written by former polish gulag prisoner, Gustaw Herling Grudziński. It's called "Inny świat" or in english "A World Apart: A Memoir of the Gulag ". it's based on facts and you it's easily accessible and i recommend it just to see how russian terror looked like. and the escape was almost impossible due to harsh conditions and the overlapping taiga forests, but also by the fact that locals were forced to rat on people who escaped

Wait till Joe find out about unit 731.

0:20 he was paranoid about betrayal

if anyone was wondering FDR was president in 1933 to 1945 during the great depression and he created many association which in turn got us out of the great depression this included ccc (Civilian Conservation Corp) and fun fact he is the only president to get more than two terms and he gave more than 20 million people jobs and fixed the trust in the banks after the stock market crash.

after stalins family died  he said it himself   he lost his empathy/ compassion for anyone other than his close friends

My grandfather (who was from East Berlin) escaped in 1953 when the girl in wall was being constructed. He had a friend (or his dad had a friend, I forget) who had gone to the Gulag and later escaped the USSR to the US. It was such a traumatic experience he didn’t want to ever describe it. A few years later, that guy got pulled over by a cop who threatened to send him back to the gulag. He went home that night and h-ng himself out of fear for ever going back

9:45 I was born in Belarus, and back then, it was a part of the Soviet Union. And I thank God that my great grandma survived that hellish place.

My great grandmother was a kulak's daughter (rich landowner) and she was sent to gulag with the rest of her family, after about 10 months they were released, and they were fully reintegrated into soviet society, she later became a shoe designer.

Crazy that i have to watch this video bc i am from estonia and my Grandfather was in the gulag and has bad memorys till this day and cries everytime he talks about it

Do more history related reaction videos. They are extremely fascinating, and I like hearing your comments ab the content of the videos. It makes watching the video and learning ab history way more entertaining.
