WOW!! WHAT A PERFORMANCE!! This is the best guitar solo I have heard so far on the #RockJourney. What are some of the best performances have y’all seen?? 🤯

Eddie was a musical genius, who just happened to be a rock guitarist.  So glad I got to see him do this live.

He was a musical genius. What a lot of people don't know I'd Eddie could not read music. He actually started out as a pianist and won several competitions. He started playing drums and his brother Alex played guitar. Then Alex said hey why don't you play this guitar, let me do drums. The rest is history. His son Wolfgang is as talented as his father and plays all instruments himself.

GOAT!!  Van Halen totally changed the music scene in the late 70's...and Eddie totally changed the world with his guitar.
❤🤍🖤

You are absolutely correct...this guitar solo was a historic moment in musical history.

In my estimation, there were primarily two rock guitarists who "liberated" the electric guitar from straightforward chords, scales, melody. Those two were the great Jimi Hendrix, and Eddie Van Halen.

RIP..EDWARD VAN HALEN. He was the best in the world. His brother jams on the drums..Alex...He will always be a legend!

EVH is the GOAT. Keep in mind....before this solo, they had done an almost entire concert. They still did a song or two after this solo.

Eddie van Halen is a legend that will never have a match

When Van Halen was unleashed, every rock guitarist was blown away and tried to mimic him.  Not many could, but those that got close were instant guitar heros.

When the video goes blue and he makes the guitar sound like a violin and a cello is insane! I have mad respect for Jimmy and Stevie but you just watched the greatest Rock and Roll guitar player ever. Period! RIP Eddie.

FYI: Eddie Van Halen wrote and performed the famous guitar solo for Michael Jacksons "Beat it"; he never asked for credit or payment.

He's got the gift of universal language. It crosses all boundries.

His brother on drums..they made such an amazing amount of music!! RIP EVH

One of the OGs. Hell yeah!!!!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥

Got to see Van Halen in the late 70's, three times in the 80's, and once in the 90's. Would have to say BY FAR best guitar solos I have seen. I have seen over 100 Rock/Metal concerts (mostly in the 80's) and Eddie WAS Special (R.I.P. Eddie, you are VERY missed).

I'm 40 and just recently started studying the history of the man. So far I'm still impressed

I love the fact that 40 yeays later, people are still asking, "how did he do that?" He is the rock guitar G.O.A.T.

The greatest guitar player of all time right there

He played this solo in every single Van Halen concert...every time! He would make some changes, but he did Eruption at every show.
