Chris Rock said that he was the only black guy at every Van Halen show he went to.

Not sure if anybody mentioned this but Eddie is the one played the guitar solo in Michael Jackson Beat It song. Great reaction. RIP EVH🙏🏻🎶

R.I.P EDDIE!!!! WE MISS YOU PAL!!!

There will never be another EVH! I still can’t believe he’s gone. He was the best of the best. I saw Van Halen in concert 3 times. He had it all; looks, talent, & he was so good to all of his fans. His demise was his partying and smoking.
And I just have to say that you reaction was great! Watching you watch these videos and listen to this music is like hearing it and watching it again for the first time for all of us.

His brother is the drummer. Alex and Eddie Van Halen founded the band.

Eddie said that he was drunk as fuck, but he was playing like a god!!!

I WAS THERE, no shitting you.  I'm  59yrs old,  was recorded at New Haven coliseum CT.  Live without a Net. 2 shows.
Seen EVH in concert 8 times.   The king.
Get a kick out watching younger generation reactions.

R.I.P Eddie

Is this AI? NO! There was no AI back then. This is pure raw talent, back when actual talent made you famous. I was at one of these shows and he was amazing. An absolute legend. He also did the guitar solo in Michael Jackson's iconic song, Beat It!

Eddie Van Halen is a legend!!

ABSOLUTELY INSANE TALENT! HE WAS UNREAL!❤

🌸 DJ - I'm so happy that you're doing this song reaction... Eddie was absolutely amazing. we lost him way too soon 💔

This is a perfect example of why we GenX LOVE our music! 🎵🎶

1000% real af talent, self taught

This is called TALENT!

11:15 This is actually the craziest technique I've ever seen. He is doing hammer ons and pulloffs to create 100% of the sound of the guitar, but also using his pitch knob to create crazy pitch changes to his notes of the frets. That is an absolute genius and legend right there.

And he did this differently, every night. The part that begins at 10:35 is called "Cathedral," from the underrated Diver Down album.

And that right there is the greatest rock ‘n’ roll guitar player in history, may he rest in peace❤

I went to a Van Halen concert when they were HUGE. It was a very good time! ❤

I had to laugh when you asked if guitarists exercise their hands/fingers. The original Eruption solo is a 2+ minute song that is incorporated into this solo. It started as a literal finger warm up that Eddie used to play before shows. So yes, musicians do warm up their hands and vocalists also warm up their vocal chords. Someday you should listen to Eruption. You might recognize some of what you heard in this reaction. It's short, to the point and will melt your face off. 😂
This version has several different portions of other songs and riffs incorporated. Now that you've been introduced  to Eddie, you should react to Hot For Teacher next. Van Halen as a whole are absolute musical beasts with the goofiest sense of humor. To say they are "entertaining" is an understatement.

God bless Eddie. Grateful that I saw VanHalen
