This antique captain's chair was repaired using fencing wire, staples, and nails. Unfortunately, that just allowed the legs to continue to move and wear out over time. They were so loose, the only thing holding them together were some large nails.
Watch as Scott investigates the details of the chair to find out what is original and what isn't. Then he shows how to carefully take the chair apart and restore the loose joints properly so it will last for many decades. These techniques are universal furniture repair skills that restore and preserve furniture. Please share this video with others so more people can save furniture from being broken and discarded.
