If you don't have an injection pump, you can use ribbon dental floss to get the glue deeper into the crack.

I have a chair that was damaged during delivery with the exact same leg-break so this video tutorial is super timely and super helpful! I especially appreciated the 'notes' on the screen as you were working, I love learning the 'why' of a process. Thank you for a great video🤩

I commend your patience in repairing poorly manufactured furniture. Who ever made that chair went against all basic woodworking principles, engineering and grain direction. Love your videos. Keep them coming. Cheers

I bet the mystery "glue" at 13:18 is Durham's Water Putty. I could see an amateur thinking it would be appropriate to use in a wood repair. (I would be such a person probably as recently as 15 years ago. lol)

Scott: an amazing restoration job on the chair. Every time I watch you work, I learn so much. I was at a client’s house just recently and we were looking at a Chippendale chair with some issues. I surprised myself with several things I said concerning fixing and staining the restored area.
Afterwards, I thought I got that info from Scott. The chair did go off to the refinishers. Thank you. Carol from California

Glad you came round to using the dowel. I ship container loads of chairs and end up repairing large numbers of them, my go-to fix usually involves a dowel. The problem with a lot of chairs , especially ones that are very old is they were never built for the abuse they receive from some people. I specifically tell people that some chairs are purely decorative.

50 yr+ carpenter here...Outstanding video in all aspects of presentation. I would love to get into the weeds with you asking questions and proffering suggestions. The color matching and best practice finish choices are my biggest bugaboos. There's so much I don't know being entirely self taught.

Also, is your entire shop so perfectly clean and organized? In my personal experience and observation, your shop is unique. Perhaps you have a side gig doing orthopedic surgery that legislates this level of cleanliness?
