It’s crazy how Wolf literally has no ego or workplace power imbalance. They literally have a better operating crew than all airlines ever. That’s probably why they never crashed the studio and killed everybody.
Pamela and Wolf falling over themselves to avoid acknowledging that power dynamics in their own workplace are real just like in every workplace really just serves to reinforce the importance of what Nathan is saying here.
When John mentioned the "Ostrich Syndrome," and Nathan was confused (as was I), most people would've just let it go (as did two of the world's best journalists who happened to be sitting in the room). But Nathan jumped in and asked him to explain immediately. This is good CRM in action in a real-world environment. Nathan has learned well.
The fact that the co-pilot already knew Nathan and understood the assignment. Yet, was reluctant to let him know that he made a mistake at take off, and didn't say anything until Nathan repeatedly asked him if there was anything he wanted to say....says so much about why this is an issue. Nathan you are genius, and I know the FMRI won't show that or your tenacity. <3 Keep being you.
My emails exploded, my messages exploded, my grandkids exploded.
