Hey everyone! Thanks for watching and I’m glad to read your positive feedback in the comments! I wanted to add/correct 2 things to the analysis.

1) It was not just the trailer that was played at Telluride Film Festival but they screened the whole movie. I read a bad source.

2) to elaborate on the zoom out at the end, look how the right side of the frame cuts exactly where the baby is. This is further proof that they want to show as much as the emptiness on the left as possible to increase the awkwardness of their proximity. Anyone simply trying to capture the scene would centre the two adults and the baby. This is storytelling and Nathan Fielder comedy.

The first time I watched this trailer, I thought it was a husband just starting to figure out his wife is batshit crazy in a psychological thriller....

"This human suit is itchy"

My 2 biggest red flags were her eyes- she didn't blink for way too long, eyes were waaaay too wide. And her smile. It was off, like she was stretching her face weirdly to accommodate the smile. And it def didn't reach her eyes.
Kinda reminded me of aMr Beast smile

She looks like she’s trying to convince you she’s human

When I first saw the trailer, I didn't know it was a documentary. At first I wondered how they got an actor that looked incredibly like EH but that the acting itself was over the top and unbelievable. Then I realized it actually IS Ms. Holmes. Holy crap! My father lived a portion of his life as a con man. What I learned from being his daughter is that anyone can be fooled, and skepticism is healthy.

The irony is that while the director is intentionally crafting these moments of awkwardness, Holmes is desperately trying not to appear awkward.

The way she is modulating her face into this soft and innocent expression while staring him down like a shark is frankly a bit creepy. All I can see is a cat preparing to pounce on a mouse.

Her smile says "We all float down here Georgy"

She's the new Penny Wise. This woman is scary AF.

My husband didn't remember what Elizabeth looked like. He saw me watching the trailer and said "Is this a horror movie?"

Before I ever heard of Theranos one of my friends was like "have you seen that woman who talks in dumb guy voice?" And I was like what and she was like, "the woman who talks like the voice you use when you're imitating a dumb guy in a story" and I will never not hear that every time she speaks. 🤣

The eyes. The voice. Makes me want to run away immediately.

To me it looks like she’s trying to hypnotize him. It’s bizarre and frankly, horrifying

"I'm engaging with you as a human being" is not what humans say

What i see is a guy who pretends to be a sociopath, being shocked at meeting a true sociopath and true sociopathic behavior.

Her deep voice was so off-putting. I never understood how people thought it was 1) real, and 2) credible. I'm not saying women with deep voices aren't either of those. It's just that hers was obviously a forced affectation.

When I first saw that face, I didn't know this was a documentary. I genuinely thought it was for a horror movie. Even knowing now that it's a documentary and that is Elizabeth Holmes, my brain still can't reconcile the horror aspect. This goes beyond just awkward and "something is off about her expression." I truly thought this was a new horror movie or some kind of horror meme going around.

There is a pathological liar in my family. The raised eyebrows, eyes wide open, smile or nervous laugh, ..I know immediately they’re lying.

I had a visceral reaction to the Elizabeth Holmes trailer—it made me want to run as far away as possible. It’s deeply uncomfortable, creepy, and honestly terrifying.
