Today we have a design by Heinz and Saar - a very unusual design that uses a ram-jet design. This was a very difficult project since we were trying to get a theory to work with a very limited number of projectiles. The velocity had to be sub-sonic - which isn't easy to pull off since we were bleeding off some of the pressure through an orifice in the gas seal.

For supersonic, it'll need a central sharp cone to create a shock wave that falls within the opening. Just like actual, full size, supersonic ramjets.

I never watch these videos until I can give them my full attention. Sometimes it takes a day or 2 to get to them, but you have to watch and listen to these. Can't just have it playing in the background while working or doing anything else.

I don't think they could physically accelerate, not significantly, even if it worked as intended. If they hit the sound barrier, the "jet" would stop working. At best, you'd just get a decrease in deceleration, which could also be accomplished by making the slug more aerodynamic.
