After watching one of your previous videos, I did some research on "no pressure cooker techniques," and I came to the conclusion that it's very doable without a pressure cooker.I chose Malz for grain spawn and am using the Tyndallization process to sterilize them. I steam them 3 times for 1.5 hours, between each time, I let them rest for 24 hours. After that, I normally wait for 3 or 4 days to make sure no contamination appears, and just after that, I transfer the agar to the grain spawn. Till now, there have been no contaminations.

Do 4 holes....it colonizes faster 👍. Use liquid culture instead of spores if you don't use a pressure cooker. The mycelium is already established and will colonize before competitor germs can take hold.

Thank you so much for your videos. I've gone from zero experience to my second round growing Blue Oysters and experimenting with different substrate (trying hardwood pellets this time rather than Coco Coir). I'm also thinking about branching out to other shrooms. It's been a fun hobby, and all my friends are loving the free mushroom gifts.
