Just spent 4 hours on the road in Virginia and had to laugh when you were talking to the camera about people being social animals.
You spend the better part of your day talking to a camera and I don't know how much is spent even seeing these comments.

I on the other hand can spend hours only listening to you and others in YouTube, with an occasional remark, that probably isn't seen by anyone, but it does sort of fill that void that us as social animals aren't actually getting.

In your case, you have coworkers a lovely wife and family that you also fill the void with, which is great.
Most of my time is with my dog and all my farm animals. They don't have much to say though.

Those pans may be "cheapo steel" but at least they ARE steel and not plastic!

Safety Rule #1 is Everyone just goes home at the end of the day. No trip to the hospital, no ambulance, no funeral home, just Home.

Installing an oil pan with a bead of sealant is the automative version of the children's game 'Operation'.

@andyhauser3169 11 months ago

Yes I would like to watch you install the I-Dash

Everyone at the beginning of the video…”Ray, you’re missing a screw on the breakaway heatsink on the transmission pan!!!” 😂😂😂

Ray bet your glad you got that lift now. You had to do mine on the floor back in January. You do the best work buddy.

At 0:25, those are not camper brackets those are shin splitters

@jimharmon3404 11 months ago

Hey Ray, it would be cool to inspect the sealant after the oil pan is installed from the inside! Get out your "catheter cam " and bore scope through the oil plug bung hole.

Another benefit of running the cross-member bolts from front to back is that when you hit objects from the road it's better to have the bolt head damaged than have the exposed threads damaged and have issues down the road removing them. Kind of an ADD thing of mine but that stuff makes me nuts when I see them backwards...LOL. Thanks so much for taking us along on this one Ray.

Really enjoy the way you use your own terminologies like "The trucks internal gravity" etc, makes me smile a lot the way you narrate the work.

You've tricked us into watching a lot of oil change videos , and I watched them all , so why not watch you install something I'll never need or use . If you do it , we will watch . Love ya man .

Great Video, 67 yr old retired auto mechanic here, that was fun being in the trenches with you, reminds me of my younger days, you did a good job on that pan.

@3:48 With a 10Lbs braided fishing line, that RTV seal can be cut off without damaging any metal. Same concept approach as taking off badges off of a car or cutting a windshield seal off for glass replacement.

I’d have to say I’m always interested in seeing anything you do. Thanks Ray.

Definitely a cab off to do the engine pan. Take the front axle off, suspension. Don't forget to take a picture of the Banks logos for the new owner. It will be the only time they see it.
