Star had vocals, choreography and so much potential. Got messy when the whole love interests became mains and the unnecessary subplots with the record label.

Star is not a spin off from empire, it only takes place in the same universe. That’s why it’s not super connected

Can I just say it deeply deeply upset me when the grandma got assaulted 😢

What i loved the most about this show was the music and the actress who played Star really did an amazing job.

Star was better in Empire ---in my opinion

It feels like more like a Teen Drama or a Musical (like Glee as you mentioned).

I loved this show when it was airing, but it did start to decline in quality as time went on. Like you said so many unnecessary characters instead of just focusing on the core 3.

My favorite arc is where Star’s sister, a member of the girl-group, has to stay in detention home(?) of some sort w/ other troubled young adults/teenagers. She befriends another fellow roommate/cell-mate/peer/whatever that initially starts off as someone who antagonizes her and threatens her physically. I don’t remember the character’s name, but a romance blossoms between Simone and the girl, and the girl is supportive of Simone and her dreams in the girl-group. It was a nice juxtaposition of Simone dueling between the worlds of being an up-and-coming superstar/public figure, to having this everyday identity as a rank-and-file person. That arc was so nuanced, I wish it had continued because it was interesting to watch

Star was the better show by far especially by season 3

Also, you should watch ABC’s Revenge. Such a great show

16:30 you finally said the thing 😂 this was the one thing that made me hold on to STAR and it never happened

In my opinion, "Star" was a solid spin-off of "Empire." Brandy's character, Cassie Brown, who is Carlotta's younger sister, really stands out as iconic and has become a fan favorite villain.

I watched star but never watched empire

I hated how they did star cause really the show got cancelled when it was getting good and also it was also surpassing empire cause in my opinion Empire went downhill after season 3 season 4 was okay but 5 and 6 were terrible the show was running out of ideas

2nd: The tragedy of Carlotta & Mary wasn't just the addiction. To Make It, people sacrifice So Much & are willing to Do damn near Anything to make it. In the beginning, the Artist/Group, feel like Everything Must center around the goal. No One knows Who You Are - so just gain attention, your talents feel prostituted.
