That’s why we need black producers, writers and better black shows

I hate when people say “ it’s just hair “. I myself couldn’t even get a job because I wore my natural hair out and faux locs to interviews. I had to slick my hair down to get a job so I’m not surprised that so many black actresses were treated bad and didn’t have stylists who can do their hair.

There is a thing about using biracials as  Black Women, as well. There absolutely is a difference. Overall, good video👌🏽

I noticed Raven Symoné in that's so Raven never really had her hair natural. Her hair was normally Straight, in ponytails or buns. makes me wonder if she had to go through the same thing they did? considering she already said Disney told her to stop tanning bc she was getting "too"dark and they had to redo the lighting etc.

All these black women need to sue the networks asap

I’m a black actress in LA (I have a talent agent, manager, the whole thing) and I owe so much to these women. They are the trailblazers, AND they are the reason why our workers Union is passing a new bylaw that any hair and makeup artist that cannot prove their extensive experience with type 4 hair and dark skin shall be deemed “unqualified” for any tv and film work. I’m so sad hearing what they went through, but also incredibly grateful to them

Why cast these ladies if your going to treat them wrong?

I still hate what they did to Kat and Bonnie on that show. Julie was racist and wanted to kill off Bonnie but because Bonnie was the most popular, she had to keep Bonnie alive but she definitely showed her displeasure through giving Bonnie shitty storylines. That any of Bonnie's love interests kept getting killed off was suspect too. Elena and Caroline had happy every afters but Bonnie is supposed to be single? Conveniently Elena and Caroline got to have love interests with the main male characters but Bonnie couldn't? It wasn't just Ian, Paul also wanted some romance for Stefan and Bonnie too esepcially around the time where Damon and Elena were moving to be together and Stefan was on his own.

Simply put, Bonnie was the token black character who was just thrown it to say "hey we're diverse!" but not be a main character,  have a focus storyline for her, and no romance with the main male characters that really backfired when she became the most popular and they tried really hard not to give her good storylines and romance.

We need to support and produce our own shows (Without Tyler Perry influence).

Still upset about Bonnie. Bonnie is and will always be my favorite.

I have only experienced racism and jealousy from white women. So I can imagine ALL OF what Kat Graham went through. 🧘🏾‍♀️

I'm the only black girl in my graduating law school class. It is exhausting to say the least, but I am grateful for the opportunity to make a change.

The kicker about Bonnie/Kat and the hair situation: TVD was shot in Atlanta. PLENTY of natural hair salons to choose from.

I didn’t know about the braids until my girlfriend had to a-lot time for her hair. I made the mistake of saying “its just hair” coming from the perspective of my straight brown hair; I was educated shortly after. It is a palling that there was still even this racism and lack of care for these actresses.

Boy meets world was one of my fave shows. And I had a huge crush on Shawn. Seeing Angela as a character and being there consistently was amazing as a young black girl.

It definitely hurts to be the token black girl. I use to LOVE boys meets world. Didn’t even know there was a boys meets world version of girl meets world. But the actor who played Angela, behind the scenes they were SO racist towards her. The actor of Shawn actually still protected her off screen. I’ve never been able to see the show the same way anymore.

Angela’s braids were always amazing. Every time I’m reminded the actress did them herself I feel combination of awe and disappointment.

I belive the white producers on vampire dairies were jealous of Katt Graham
