Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota features 60-foot faces of four United States presidents, carved into granite between 1927 and 1941 by Gutzon Borglum and about 400 workers. Some 450,000 short tons of rock were removed, and the project ran out of money before it was finished.

This documentary covers the Lakota Six Grandfathers, the plan to draw tourists, the dynamite and honeycombing, the faces one by one, the unfinished Hall of Records and the ongoing dispute over the Black Hills.
