My dear Shannon and Phil, you are saving that house for at least another 100 years! Proper drainage and repairing rot, removing tree root intrusion into the foundation. Amazing! Thank you for bringing us along on your journey!

Jean's skill is amazing to watch. He uses that equipment like it is an extension of his own hands. Can't wait to see the yard with all the future flowers in bloom

I feel your houses' deep sigh of relief, as you save it from the constant damage all that water has done for untold decades.
What a wonderful change in the back yard! It takes a true professional to make massive boulders look graceful! The way the tiers come together at the ends looks so natural.
I highly approve of the extra Corgi footage.

I have gotta say, I love the wonderful father-son relationship between Phill and Jean. It's always heartwarming to see good male relationships, and supportive family. I'll be sad when your guest star leaves. Let him know we aprecite him :)

You're the only house renovator who was able to prove that "piecing is period" with that ground cover cloth trick! Bravo!

Super smart move to hedge your bets and add the second french drain.

What an amazing transformation. It must be very gratifying to know that whatever you do to the house in future will not be destroyed next time there is a big rainstorm.

Forced my husband to stop what he was doing and watch Cannelle's show-stopping dressage performance: perfectly executed leg-interweaving, followed by adorable nose-through-the finger-'O'. Beautiful editing throughout, thanks!

The wall looks great . . . The French drains look great . . . Jean is a wonder . . . blah, blah, blah . . . but, HOW DOES THE CORGI GET CLEAN?!?

@ace_r_ola 1 year ago

Now that’s the dirtiest, happiest corgi I’ve ever seen ❤

Wow! This is so amazing to watch! So lucky Phil's dad is so handy with that equipment!

The agony of dealing with the aftermath of Cheap Arses is so incredibly relatable when doing house repairs! Especially repairs that are only required because the prior owners cheated out on an instillation. My home was owned by HGTV producers who did several renovations so poorly, we can’t keep up with everything that has to be replaced or repaired. But hey, it looked good on camera! It does my heart good to see you do things really well and Jean is incredibly talented in that machine!

The grading job is really impressive! It is overwhelming how much that hill had pushed itself into the house, and your reclaiming it is really satisfying.

I once lived next to an ancient (by Rochester, NY, historical standards) firehouse that had done excavating and had a MASSIVE pile of rocks. A neighbour lent me his Jeep and I set to task about moving them over to the courtyard garden I was creating to use as edging and pathways. Bravo you! Can't wait for the video to see your new rock wall! I think it's incredibly practical that you gravelled the whole of the back yard. As you are away with the circus at various times of the year, caring for lawn would be impossible. Find some terrific big winter-proof pots and plant those!

Love that your parents dog came running when you were talking about the sponsor - either the pup wanted to try a Sunday sample OR thought "I hear my sister, I think she needs my kisses" - I'm convinced it's the ladder ❤️

The wall is amazing - building this wall and tapering it of, that takes a lot of skill and experience. At this point, Jean is worth his weight in gold. Congratulations on completing this massive project! The backyard looks so much better and with the grading, drainage, connecting the rain water pipes and new sill plates, the house foundations will finally be safe and has the potential to be here in another 200 years. You guys are unbelievable!
