Just been out tonight in Middlesbrough and found myself so upset at the end of the night! I’m VERY lucky to have a well paid job and had a good meal and lots of drinks after. As I left the bar I noticed 3 homeless people. I bought them meals and drinks. One of the homeless was praying towards me and it simply doesn’t feel right. Look after fellow human beings! Many would actually call me far right but I’m not! Just upset at how some people have to live their lives! Pissed off guy from Yorkshire

That town has been on the decline for years and years. Looks like it’s getting worse. I moved away from Middlesbrough 3 years ago - moved to America. Watching this makes me feel sad, but also glad that I actually did move away. Couldn’t imagine bringing my daughters up there now.

Middlesbrough had the best steelworks in the world when that was shutdown people were left devastated and pushed into bad circumstances

We bought our first House on Essex Street in the early 1970's and at that time it was a great community but now the place has just gone down the toilet thanks to the useless Leftie Councillors such a shame and a disgrace!

I come from these streets close to Union Street, now living in Tokyo, big difference for sure. Middlesbrough was a great place, still can be in parts, and you'll find some of the most generous and warm people you could wish to meet, but it's getting worse and worse each year.
