I became a mom very young. When I turned 18 my child was almost three and I also had my nephew, who was 5, because my brother and his girlfriend had some issues. I was working two jobs and doing college courses online. I was hardly surviving. One evening I heard a noise outside.. I realized I left my garage door open.. I ran upstairs and grabbed a bat. When I went out to the garage there were about 10 bags of groceries and 2 gallons of milk and two 24 packs of coco cola ..I ran down my driveway to see who it was but i saw no one. It had to have been one of my neighbors because they knew certain foods we liked. Even the children's favorite cereal. And they knew i baked homemade bread because there was a big container of yeast. And taped to a bag was a card that said "you're doing a great job, take a break, take yourself out for dinner or buy yourself something nice" with $300 in it. No one ever told me who it was. But I remember sitting on my garage floor crying. I was struggling yet I didn't tell anyone, yet someone knew.
I try to pass that moment on to whoever i can whenever I can. Pay it forward... without anyone knowing.
As someone who sews and does leatherworking....luxury items are NEVER actually luxury. They're made with cheap fabric, cheap hardware, and cheap leather. Sometimes the leather is the particle board kind, but legally they can call that "genuine leather". Or suede. So much suede is billed as "luxury". Suede is one of the cheapest leathers you can get because it's not the top grain, it's cut from the layers below. It's impossible to clean, is horrible for straps because it stretches so much, and you can't buff damage out of it. It's only good for saddle rough-out seats. If you want good leather, at least look for "top grain".
I want to share that I was once attempting to become an influencer, and as time went on, I noticed myself becoming increasingly narcissistic and mentally ill. I believe that this is a huge problem in modern society. I have since deleted most of my social media and get counseling regularly. It's not worth it.
What kills me is the fake videos about 'finding' stray kittens outside. "Oh, this kitten ran to me for help!" No, that's your cat that you terrified and traumatized by dragging out it to the woods and pretending to 'rescue' it.
I'm a woman in the later stage of life. If there really was a supplement drink that could save muscle mass every doctor in the world would be screaming about it. Pharmaceutical companies would be making billions off it. The complete absence of critical thinking involved with social media in general, and "influencers" in particular is both depressing and dangerous. Being an egotistical, narcissistic parasite doesn't qualify you to advise anyone on any subject. I would suggest that kind of delusional self-worship would immediately disqualify you entirely.
