Too much time on their hands, jumper, sweater, pull over, garment, π€£ Your vacation plans sound wonderful & I got a chuckle out of you looking forward to going as they have good yarn shops π I would be doing the same.
Jumper, sweater, WHOOOO CAAARRES.. Learn about different dialects of English. Ignorance / stupidity is rampant on the internet. Let's just enjoy Simon's company without all the useless, negatively motivated commentary. Really people, get a life.
The jumper is so beatiful π₯° It's a really great take on Icelandic jumpers! Have a wonderful cruise to Scandinavia and being Swedish I hope you'll get to see a little more of Sweden than Stockholm. And hopefully you'll get a chance to buy som Swedish wool
In Australia we call it a jumper. A sweater is a windcheater over here. I have one of Zimmerman's design books so you can knit any size with different proportions. Its really good. But mostly I knit from a great book from the 70s. I like the purple you are using on your hubby's jumper. It looks great so far
I have Elizabeth Zimmerman's book. I have never had time to really read it through though, because it looks like a lovely book. However, now my husband and I are semi-retired, I've got a bit more time for myself.... along with the knitting, machine knitting, spinning, weaving, sewing etc etc etc not to mention music!!π³πππ
I have been buying my square tips (cubix) that are chiagoo to go with my set I already have. I do have knit pro as well but have not yet seen the square tip needles. I have been knitting up a storm since 20 yrs. old and now 72 and agree they make a difference ... love your podcast .... have a wonderful day:face-red-heart-shape: as a side have those books in my library as well as the the Japanese stitch dictionaries
Casting on On the Piste this week. Might have to get some cubics as my zings are playing havoc with my hands. Maybe I could knit some Baby Surprise Jackets for charity. Please tell me Iβm not the only one to throw it up in the air to get it landing so it looks like a jacket!
That jumper is really cute behind you especially the colours you have chosen. Have you use a variegated yarn for it? With needles I use Knit pro ones which are colourful for normal knitting projects. For lace and shawls I find the Knit Pro cubics are great for this type of knitting because my fingers do not ache as much with having arthritis in them. They are a little bit more expensive but worth it. I do use circulars and stick to the Pony ones which I find comfortable. My favourite knitting books are Rowan, I have a subscription for the magazine which comes out twice a year and just love the patterns. I also purchase the Mode, Quail Studios, West Yorkshire Spinners books and have just recently purchased ones from Yarn Journal which is a Scottish company.
