This was a great race; I remember seeing it live on ESPN; I feel bad for Walter Brun, he ran a great race, but the engine in his 962C let him down; & I feel for Paul Canary, his Eagle 711 GTP never got to set a qualy time, reportedly due to overheating issues; but still a great win for TWR Silk Cut Jaguar

Great for Jaguar, but did have to feel sorry for Pareja breaking down. If I remember correctly, his car may have covered more distance than the second place Jag, but couldn’t cross the line again after 4.00!

A good attempt by the Repsol Porsche, but Jaguar once again dominates with those V12 monsters!

@S14VH45 "Driver's Seat", a one-hit wonder by Sniff 'n the Tears in the late '70s.  Presumably a cover because the original song is not that electronic and sounds like a cross between Foreigner and The Cars...

blame Jean-Marie Balestre for this one. He's a fucking killjoy. When the chicanes were introduced, there were two HUGE accidents, Jonathan Palmer in qualifying, and a Lancia in the night.

In Gran Turismo 5, when driving the Mazda 787B with a Driving Force GT, it feels like the car is bumping all over the road on Sarthe. Watching this video, I can see that the game accurately recreates what the drivers went through. The only difference is they somehow found a way to stay on the road, where I can't!
