"I can't really sing these vocals... they're too high.", ... "So next I'm gonna do midnight city or sleepyhead"

As someone who loves music but has no idea how to make it, this series is super cool. Thanks for having the passion to make these videos

one of the most uniquely haunting indie hits of all time. it may just be the nostalgia talking, but it's genuinely so difficult to put the vibe of this song into words. there's no denying it's groovy, catchy, and danceable, but all the breathy, ethereal elements bring out the heart-sinking sadness of its subject matter, almost as if it's a lament ringing over the aftermath of the tragedy it describes. sorry if that comes off as pretentious, but i've never been able to fully wrap my head around how this song can feel so empty and so full of life at the same time. it's crazy.

Dude. You gotta play the whole song once you’re done making it.

pumped up kicks was made in an afternoon, Mark mainly worked as a barista at the moment. The sub bass/texture you hear is a accordion bass note pitched down.

Midnight City and Sleepyhead are both absolute bangers, can't wait for the next video whatever it is. Great series.

8:20 The counter to this is what is often referred to as "demoitis", where you listen so much to the demo you recorded that it biases you against any subsequent take because it is less familiar to you, even if the retakes may be "better" (subjective, but I'm sure you know what I mean). Great video :)

Why do all vocals get better when sound like they’re coming through a landline from 1950s?

I remember the project file being included with Logic and thinking - Holy shit does this song have a lot going on in it.

Since you brought up Phoenix, I think a recreation of 1901 would be super cool. These videos are very interesting.

When it comes to choosing songs for the remake, you've hit the nail on the head. The videos are enjoyable, and your remake is often close to the original.

Thanks for your videos !
